Thursday January 24th, 1929.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
re alar session at the office of said Board Thursday January 24t i,
1929, at 9 o ' clock A.M. Messrs, McFail and Henley being present . Mr.
Reid being absent ; two members of said Board being present . The fol-
- lowing proceedings were had, to-wit ;I/ The Board received fomplaints from property owners of fences not re-
placed, taken down by Mr. Hipskind contractor for Clear Creek Trunk
& Lateral Sewer, at 1st alley west of Easthaven Ave, north 'of Hilda
Street, also, west linebof J.Hill & Essenmacher property, also, to
Private driveway destroyed by contractor at Lot No. 18, on north
side of Hilda Street ; clerk was directed to notify Mr. Hipskind to
make proper repairs and replace fences taken down.
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under
Improvement Resolution No. 872-1928, for improvement of South 5th
Street, from South "H" to "N" Street, by cement sidewalks, curb &
gutter and 18 ' cinder-gravel roadway with necessary drainage. The
- Board accepted the dame and approved a primary assessment roll for
• cost of said work .
The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 228-1929,
to widen certain portions of Ft-Wayne Avenue, by condemning 5 foot
of ground parallel with said Avenue at Lot No. 21, J . Cox ' s, Add.
and Lot No. 10 & 9-N.P. J . Cox ' s, addition, owned by E. A, Mariani
and Wm. G. & Sue B. Huffman. (for description see resolution) .
The request of Councilmen Benn & Waltermann, for light at Northwest
5th & Chestnut Street and at South 5th & " I" Streets, were referred
to Sup 't.. 7 of Light Plant for -investigation & report .
Claims in amount of $2290. 61 were allowed. .
The Clerk was directed to notify, 'JU.E. Mc1vIahan, to remove the air line
from walk at No. 216 South 8th Street the seme having been installed
without permission and is contrary to the rules of said board.
