Monday January 21st, 1929.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, thet
in regular session at the office of said Board, Monday January 21st
1929, at 9 o 'clock A.M. . Messrs, McFail. and Henley present; Mr.
Reid, absent, two members of said Board being present . The follow-
ing proceedings were had, to-wit :
•
The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for oiling streets
during season 1929, under last years specifications.
Superintendent of Light Plant was directed to install an Arc Light.
in South " N" Street .between South 6th & 7th Street ; also one at
Ridge Street and Williamsburgh Pike.

The Board received a dedication of five feet of ground off of
east end of Lot No. 23 in C.W.Starr 's, 8th Addition, from the
Mills-Peltman Realty Co. , for widening in South 9th Street on
west side of street between Main & South " A". Street, approved
by the Board.
The Board received resolution of thanks from the Citizens Mutual
Fire Insurance Company, for use of Council Chamber January 16th, .
1929, for annual meeting of Directors of said company.
Whereas, the City had been summoned and notified of a suit in the
Wayne Circuit Court, instituted. by the C.& 'O.Railroa d Co. , against
the city in amount of A5. 98 freight bills, The Board is in receipt
Of a communication from Albert H. Cole State Counsel for said rail-
road company, stating the suit is a friendly suit to determine the
issue now before the Interstate OommrceCommission.
The Board approved the various payrolls to January 16th, 1929.
• Claims in amount of $19,405. 9 were allowed.
