Thursday January 17th, 1929.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session at the office of said Board Thursday January 17th,
1929. All the members of said Board, Messrs,' Reid, McFall & Henley
being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit :
Minutes of last meeting read & approved.
Pursuant to continuance to this date. The Board met to hear remon-
strances if any, of persons primarily assessed under Declaratory
Resolution No. 227-1928, for the vacation of part of alley 1st west
of South 7th Street, from South "J" Street north, to a point 300
feet more or less south of South "H" Street , to south property line
of Indianapolis Glove Co. , ground. No one appearing or remonstrating
the Board approved a final assessment roll of benefits & damages
confirming the original assessment roll as heretofore approved and
now direct the same be forthwith transmitted tb the Department of
Finance.
The Clerk was directed to notify A.C.Lindermuth, to -clean the snow
out of the gutters on his building at 6th & Main Streets .
The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for oiling streets
under same -specifications used in 1928.
The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for the gathering of .
rubbish,' ashes & waste material as now gathered by the city street
department , according to plans & specifications on file, bids to be
received February 14th, 1929.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.885-1929,
. for construction of Sanitary Sewer in the territory between South-
west 1st Street & Whitewater Boulevard and Southwest "D" & "E" Street .
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.886-1929, fov
the improvement of Southwest let Street from Southwest"D" to "E" StreE
also, Dodge Street, from Southwest 1st Street to Whitewater Boulevard
by the construction of cement curb & gu.ttersstandard width) and
four foot sidewalks and planting trees on both sides of said streets ;
also grading & paving the roadway with one of the following kinds
of city pavements, to-wit : Sheet Asphalt, Rock Asphalt, Bituminous
Retread or Reinforced Concrete.
The Board authorized D. C.Hess, Sup 't . , of Light Plant to submit new
rules & regulations governing wiring etc . , to the Public Service Corn-
mission for their consideration and ap-)roval.
The Board authorize Chief of Fire Department, to allow the Ahrens-
Fox Fire Engine Co. , to remove one of the trucks taken in trade on
their proposal for new pumping engine.
The Board then adjourned.
