• Thursday January 10th, 1929.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session at the Office of said Board Thursday January 10th,
1929, at 9 Lo 'clock A. M. All, the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid,
McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had
to-writ
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read,
I/ The Board met to hear all persons primarily assessed as benefits in
matter of vacation of a part of the let alley west of South 7th St .
from South "J" Street north to south property line of Indianapolis
Glove Co. , ground, as provided for under Declaratory Resolution No.
227-1928, on motion said hearing was continued to Thursday January
17th, 1929 .
Reciuest of the Pohlmeyer Corporation, for light_ a,. intersection of
alley north of Linden Ave, and alley west of Ridge Street, was dis-
cussed with I!ir. Pohlmeyer, and the Board decides the City has no
authority to place alight at this point, as this territory is not
within the business or congested district providing for alley lights .
A communication was received from Mrs . Chas. Posther, requesting a
cinder path be placed on the fifes at new railroad bridge in South
9th Street, so that persons can keep out of mud in crossing said
bridge. The Clerk was directed to notify Mrs. Posther, as their is
no railing on the bridge and the floor is. not yet laid, the city
would be inviting trouble by encouraging persons to cross the bridge
in its present condition.

The Finance Department was directed to pay to W.L.Magaw contracter
the sum of :;438. 58, being 5% retained under Improvement Resolution
No. 845-1927.
The Annual report of J . E.Higgs, Building Inspector was received,
accepted and ordered placed on file.
The Board certified, to the Board of Trustees of the Richmond State
Hospital, as to the State ' s share of Clear Creek Trunk & Lateral &
the Clear Creek Trunk sewer known as Out-Fall sewer, the same being
26, 062.55, and Mr. Reid, President of Board of Public Works, was
instructed to sign the affidavits to be presented to the Hospital
for payment of said claim.
The Board approved_ the contract & bond of W. L. Magaw, contractor
under Improvement Resolution, providing for improvement of Streets,
lir etc. , in Ravinia Park First Addition, to City of Richmond, Indiana.
Claims in amount of $15, 432.05 were allowed.
The Board then adjourned,
