The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
±egular session at the office of said Board Monday December 24th,
. - -1928, at 9 o 'clock A.M. Messrs, Henley & McFail being present ; Mr.
Reid,absent, Twotmernbers of said Board being present . The following
proceedings were had, to-wit :
II -IN THE MATTER OF IMPROVEMENT OF
RAVINIA PARK FIRST ADDITION :
This being the day named when the Board would grant a hearing to
all persons interested or whose property is affected, by the improve-
ment of Ravinia Park First Addition, the Board now holds such hear- .
ing and hears all persons present and appearing before such Board
in the matter- of such improvement .
And the Board having examined the notice given of such hearing, &
. ' having heard all interested persons present, and being fully advised
in the' premises, now finds that it has full jurisdiction and author-
ity to decide whether the benefits which will accrue to the property
liable to be assessed for said improvements will equal the estimated
costs thereof. - On motion made and duly seconded, the following
resolution was unanimously adopted:
IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO.
BE IT RESOLVED By the Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond
• Wayne County, Indiana, that the special benefits which will accrue to
the lots and property in Ravinia Park First Addition to said City of
Richmond liable to be assessed on account of the improvements now be-
ing petitioned for in such addition will amount to the sum of Sixty
five Thousand & Thirty-two Dollars ( 05, 032.00 ) , and that by reason
thereof the benefits which will accrue to such property liable to be
assessed for s id improvements will equal the estimated cost thereof.
This Board now confirms the preliminary resolution adopted by
said Board on the 17th day of December, 1928, ordering said improve-
, ments, and this Board now orders that said Addition shall be improved
in manner as provided for in said preliminary resolution, and all in
accordance with the plans, drawings and specifications therefor as
prepared by the City Engineer of said 'City, and now on file in the
Office of said Board, and the costs of said improvements shall be
Paid for by a levy of special assessments on t ,e lots in said additio:
to be determined and apportioned upon said affected lots upon the corn
pletion of all the improvements provided for, and according to the
contract or contracts therefor as subsequently let by this Board.
And the Board now fixes Monday January 7, 1929, at ten o 'clock AM.
on such day, as the time when this Board will receive sealed propos-
IIals for the performance of all work and the furnishing of all materi-
al for all of said work, provided for in said resolution, in accord-
ance with said drawings, .plans, and specifications, and the City Oler
is directed to make advertisement accordingly in manner as provided
by law, and each bidder shall be required to deposit with his respect
ive bid a certified check for an amount of not less than two and one-
half (24) per cent of the Engineers estimate of the cost of such
improvements included in his bid to -insure the execution of the con-
tract for which such bid is made.
The Board now orders that the petitioners for these improvements
- enter into a satisfactory agreement with Richmond ,Water. Works Corp_ or-
ationtwith reference to supplying water to said addition, whereby the
cost to the city shall in no event exceed the cost to the city for
fire hydrants, and to report such agreement to this Board.

' The Board directed D. C.Hess, Sup °t. , of Light Plant to award
contract to Raymond City Coal Company, for 2 cars of coal per
day up until March 1st, 1929, at price of $1. 55 per ton f.o.b.
Cincinnati, Ohio, or $0.130 per ton f. o.b . mines.
The. Richmond Water Works Corporation, were instructed to ex—
tend 6" water mains in Ravinia Park Addition, subject to sub—
sequent agreement to be entered .into between said Water Works
and lot owners in said addition ' in matter of guaranteeing •
to Water Corporation proper revenue on such extensions.
Claims in amount of $97162.-I-,5, were allowed.
