Thursday December 6th, 1928.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday December
6th, 1928, at 9 o 'clock A.M. Messrs, Reid and Henley being ssix .
present, Mr. McFall, absent. Two members of said Board being
present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose
property is primarily assessed, for the improvement of North-
west 3rd Street, by constructing cement curb & gutter on, both
sides of street, from Richmond Avenue to Randolph Street, under
Improvement Resolution No. 87G-1928. No one remonstrating, the
Board approved a- final assessment roll, confirming the original
assessment roll as heretofore approved, and now direct the same
be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance.
The Board approved the contract of George Kircher, for the re-
moving and disposing of the garbage from Crematory bins, for
the year ending December 1st, 1929.
':he Board directed the Finance Department to pay to John F.
Hipskind, contractor the amount of 0102.84, being the 5% re-
tained under Improvement Resolution No. 844-1927.
The Street Commissioner, was directed to remove the drinking
fountain, from North 10th & "E" Streets.
The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 227-1928,
for the vacation of a portion of the alley 1st west of South
7th Street, from South "J" Street north to a point 300 ft . more
or less south of South "H" Street.
Recommendation from Chief of Police, requesting flood lights be
- placed at North "E" & 15th & North "E" & 8th Street, - referred to
Sup 't. , Light Plant .
The Board order the purchase of 6 Bullet proof vests, for use of
Police Department, from The Detective Publishing Co. , Chicago, I11.,
- The matter of petition for setting back curbs and widening road-
way from North "A" to "0" Street, was referred back to the Board
by the Corm-:ion Council.
Claims in amount of $12, 903 .48 were allowed.
