Thursday October l8th, 1928.
• The Board of Public-vVoka or the-City of Richmond,: Indiana, that
in regular session at the office of said Board, Thursday October •
18th, 1928, at 9 o 'clock A. M. Messrs, McFail and Henley being •
present. Mr. Reid, absent . Two 'members of said Board being pres-
ent . The following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose prop-
erty is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 879-1928, fDD
the improvement of the alley first North of National Road, by
constructing cement roadway, fro, Southwest 4th to 5th Street .
No one remonstrating , the Board decides that the benefits to the
property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal
to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and
thereupon take action on said resolution, the same being confirmed
without modification.
The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose prop-
erty is affected under. Improvement Resolution No. 877-1928 for
the improvement of South " E" Street, by grading the street the
full width .thereof, from South loth Street east to the west line
of Lot 52, Reeveston Addition. The Board continued hearing on
said resolution to November 29th, 120.
The Board approved the contracts and bonds of W. L. Y,agaw con-
tractor under Improvement Resolution Nos . 873 & 874-1928,
A.'yetition for improving Fort Wayne -Avenue, by setting back the

curbs to Present sidewalks and paving the roadway between the
old pavement and the new curbs, and renealin:_-, the ordinance es-
tablishing the building line five feet from the present lot lines
was received, and taken under advisement, So much of the above
petition as pertains to repealing ordinance establishing building
lines was referred to Ordinance Co-- ittee at _last session of
council.
The City Civil Engineer, reported the completion of contract un-
der Improvement Resolution No. 83-1928, for the improvement of
Ridge Street, by cement sidewalks, curb & gutters and re-inforced
concrete roadway, from Stevens Street to Viilliams'burgh Pike . the
same was accepted, and clerk instructed on account of the amount
of intersections on said street, to make up the assessment roll -
• charging one-half of said intersections to the City 's parts.

The Finance Department was directed to pay the fol ' owing 5% re Ill

tained under "contracts for improvement resolutions named to
Pyle & Ridgeway contractors as fdllows, to-wit :
Improvement Resolution No. 87,7-1927, amount retained - $461. 50 .
;Improvement Resolution No. 84O-1927, amount retained - $162.38 • J
The Clerk was directed to serve notice thru the police department
to Henry D. Zuttermeister, to have the pipes removed from sidewalk
abutting real estate owned by him situate at 44 South 6th Street
the same protruding from said walk making; it dangerous.

The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No.875-1928 .
providing for the improvement of South 14;-th Street, by construct-
ing cement curb & gutter on both sides of street , grading and paving
the roadway with Bituminous treated macadam surface on a gravel-
cinder foundation; the repair of sidewalks where necessary and plant-
ing of trees where needed ,- from South" G" to "H'I Street, as follows :

The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. .876-1928
providing for the improvement of South "G" Street, by constructing
cement curb & gutters, cement sidewalks where necessary, planting
shade trees and paving the roadway with a bituminous macadam surface
on a cinder-gravel foundation, together with the necessary drainage
structures, from South 13th to 16th Street, es follows, to-wit :
" Pyle & Ridgeway, bid;
Street complete $8. 64 per linear foot
Sidewalk . 23 square foot
Trees - 3 . 00 each
W. L. Magaw, cid;
Street complete • '1;0. 90 per linear foot
Sidewalk .19 " square foot
Trees -- • --- 3 ,00 each.
The Board_ ref erred said bids on both streets to the Civil Engi-
neer•, for investigation and report.-
The Board approved the various payrolls to October 16th, 1928.
Claims 'in, mount of $11, 900-.00 were allowed.
