Monday October 8th, 1928.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session at the office of said Board Monday October 7th, 1928,
at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid,
McFall and Henley being present. •The following proceedings were
had, to-wit :
A communication was received from Acting Post Master Deuker, notify-
.'" ing the Board of the requirements of the department is that for the
extension of city delivery service to patrons in new territory, or
on new streets, it is necessary that street signs be erected, stating
they are withholding delivery in new territory in some sections for
the reason that this requirement has not been met . The Board direct
the clerk to request that the Post Master give the Board the terri-
tory and streets to be marked, and to insure himx him that the city
desired in every manner within their power to co-operate with J.
The Building Inspector, was instructed to issue permit for a gasoline
filling station to: be erected by the Standard Oil Co . , at East raven
Avenue and National Road, with the understanding the sidewalk in
East Haven Avenue is not to be disturbed and proper grade be made on
National Road, for future vsidewalks ,
City Attorney O ,.1;..Brow!1, was directed to prepare dedications of J'rounc
on west side of South 9th Street between the 1st alley south of
Mein Street to South "A" . Street be prepared, the , city to pay the
cost of improvement of said street between the points named as made
under Improvement Resolution No. 850-1928, 23ax as assessed against
each lot or portion of lot dedicated.
Claims in amount of 14,459.1 were allowed.
The City Civil Engineer reported the complet-ion of contract under
Improvement Resolution No. 850-1928, for improvement of South 9th
Street, by setting back curbs to sidewalks and paving the space
between the present roadway and gutter, from South "A" Street to
1st alley south of Main Street, same was accepted and assessment
roll ordered. .
The Board then adjourned,
