Thursday October. -th, 1928.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board, Thursday October
-th, 1928, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Board,iyiessrs,
Reid, McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings
were had, to-wit :
Permission was granted Evans & Evans to cut the curb on east side
of South 12th Street, in rear of lot 27, C.W. 'ergusons 1st Add.
The various complaints received from council were referred to
Street Commissioner.
is Honor L. A.Handley,Mayor, reported the resignation of Wm. H.
Kelley as City Attorney, and introduced to the Board Clarence M.
Brown, the newly appointed City. Attorney.
The Board received communication fro:., 'Wayne Automatic Stoker Co. ,
notifying the Board that the Iron Fireman Automatic Stoker had
been installed and completed as of date of Oct . 1, 1928, the be-
ginning of the 60 day period for the Boards approval, making
December 1, 1928, as the date of payment in full for stoker
according to contract .
The Board direct the finance department to pay John F. Hipskind
• contractor $12, 085. 66 for work finished on pump. house and out-
fall clear creek sewer.
The Board issued contractor certificates to J . F, Hipskind # 63
5701.91, 64-65 & 66- $5000.00 each and 67-60 - '2500. 00 each
or total of 425, 701.91, on Clear Creek Sanitary Sewers.
Street Commissioner, was instructed to. repair North 19th Street
between "D" &"E" Street, also to take up the loose expansion joint
in North 19th Street north of railroad.
The Clerk reported to the Board, that up to date the City had
been served with summons on cases of ,appeal. filed_ in the Circuit
Court, by Chas, C . Goins, Marie Kramer; Thos Ryan & Luke Fletely
Jesse L, Eliza A. Parry T. Gibson and Charles H. Meyer, which
had been turned over to the City Attorney, in matter of above
persons assessments of benefits and award of damages, in opening
of South 10th, llth, 12th, 13th, Streets to South Avenue and South
" L" Street from 9th to 20th Street, under Declaratory Resolution
No. 222-1920.
The Board then adjourned,
