City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday October 1st, 1928.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session at the office of said Board Monday October lst, 1928,
at 9 A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid, McFall and
Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The Board received copy of resolution adopted by the Board of Trus—
tees, School City of Richmond, Indiana., endorsing the resolution
for grading the north. one-half of South "L" Street fro -1 9th to 12th
Street , and waive their right to remonstrate against said improvement
and assessment for the cost of same. (See Resolution) . The Board
on motion direct the Clerk to adversie forbids for said grading
bids to be received October 11, 1)28, under Improvement Resolution
No. 878-192 . .
The Board approved the Chas . H. Sell Re-plat, consisting. of 53 lots
41, to 53 inclusive, between Peacock Road & Alley north of NW. "DI
Street and between Northwest 8th & 11th Streets.
The City Civil Engineer was directed to prepare plans for storm sewe:
for territory east of South 22nd Street and south of South"A" Street
also, for sanitary sewer for Reeveston District not now sewered, and
prepare same large enough for future use- for this territory.
Also, to investigate and report as to course to pursue for repair-
ing sidewalk on south side of North "E" Street, between North $th
and 9th Street . .
The Board received communication from Chas. Johenning, con> ratulstii _
them on the opinion expressed by them, in believing that South"L"
Street will be the main traffic channel' for south end of- City .
Upon complaint , the Board discharged leorge Jenkins as custodian or
janitor at City Building, and appoint a Mr. C. ilarris, to the job .
The Board direct that notice be served on Nusbaum & Neff and owner
of building occupied by Meyers Drug Store;. to repair the curb in
front of their premises between 7th & 8th Street ; also the Bender Ic
Cream Co. , and Mrs. Weiss, to repair the curb in South 5th Street
at their property between Main & South "A" Street .
The Clerk WFS diredted to request the property owners abutting the
west side of South 9th Street between South"A" & alley north to de-
dicate 5 foot of ground for street purposes, and. the City. will assun;ri;
the assessment for street as just completed.
