The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board, Thursday September 27th 1928, at 9 o ' clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid, McFail and Henley being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit : Pursuant to continuance to this date, the Board met to hear all Persons interested or whose property is affected under Improvement Resolution No, 876-1928, providing for the improvement of South"G" Street, by constructing cement curb, gutter, planting shade trees both sides of street, cement sidewalks where necessary, and paving the roadway with a bituminous macadam surface on a cinder-gravel foundation, together with necessary drainage, from South 13th t0 16th Street . After hearing all persons interested who appeared. The Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of the same as reported by the city civil engineer, and thereupon take action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification. A remonstrance signed by Herman F. Pilgrim, owner of all the lots except one, abutting on South loth Street, from South ".G" to "H" Street, which street it is proposed to improve under Improvement Resolution No. 875-1928, was received. as Mr. Pilgrim is not a resi- dent on said street the Board decides that it is necessary t0 im- prove said street and thereupon overrule said remonstrance, and re-afirm their former decision on said street, and confirmed said resolution. The Board received bids for improvement of Boyer Street , by con- structing cement -sidewalks, curb; gutters, planting trees on both sides of street and paving the roadway with one of the following kinds of pavements, to-wit : SheeteAsphal , Rock Asphalt , Reinforced Concrete or Bituminous Macadam, from Stevens Street to Williamsburgh Pike, as provided under Improvement Resolution No. 873-1928, as follows, to-wit : " W. Teegarden Co , bid; Street Complete, Surface treated Macadam ;fly 00 lin7foot Reinforced Concrete 1 . 80 " Pyle & Ridgeway, bid; - Street Complete, Reinforced Concrete $17.40 lin-foot The Board on motion now enters its preliminary order, designating said street be imp_ roved, by using reinforced concrete pavement for roadway. - Upon recommendation of Mr. • Hess, arc light was ordered placed at South 15th & " G" Street . The Board directed the clerk to prepare an appropriation ordinance in sum of 4 , 000.00 to the Repair account of Light Plant . • 1 86 Thursday September 27th, 1928. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No.874- 1928, for the improvement of South 15th Street, by construct- ing cement curb & gutter, standard width on both sides, grading and paving the roadway with a Bituminous treated macadam surface on a cinder-gravel foundation, repairing sidewalks and planting trees where necessary, from South "G" to "t-i" Street , as follows to-wit ; " L.W. Magaw, being the lowest and within the estimate of city engineer, the contract was so awarded. Permission was granted Claud Eller, to cut the curb at 109 Last Haven Avenue . After a conference with Messrs, Bate, and W. McCoriaha, officers of School City of Richmond, Indiana, the Clerk was directed to communicate with School Board and request that .they waive their right to remonstrate against assessment which may be made for the grading of the -north one-half of South "L" Street, from South 9th to 12th Street and permit the City to award, contract for said grading to W.
