Monday September 24th, 1928.
The Board of Public forks of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday September
24th, 1928, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs,
Reid, McFa.il and Henley being present . .The following proceedings
were had, to-wit :
Permission was granted A.J .King, to cut the curb at 439 S,^J.'I-th St .
Permission was granted H. C .Hieer, to cut the curb on north side of
South "B" St . between 15th & loth Sts . Lot #6, Glass, Addition.
The Finance Department was directed to pay to J .L. Teegarden contract-
or under Improvement Resolution No. 825-1927, reserve in sum of
4 36zi-.30 held on Sidewalks East Haven Avenue.
The Board approved the contract & bond of Pyle & Ridgeway, contract-
ors under Improvement Resolution No. 872-192S, for improvement of
South 5th Street, from South "H" to "N" Street .
The Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for Triple Combinat-
ion Pumping Engine for Fire Department, bids received Oct . 22nd. ,
Street Commissioner was directed to Oil East Haven Avenue, also, to
place gravel & cinders on Parry Street .
A letter together" with a claim of •;736.00 for damages to garden of
Harriett Wright was received and referred to Mr. Reid, to investi-
gate' and confer with contractor on sewer.
Petition fore light at South 15th & "G" Streets, was referred to
Sup 't . , of Light Plant .
Mr. Hess, , Sun 't . , of Light Plant was directed to have trees trimmed
at National Road and West Avenue,, known. as Church Street .
The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose proper-
ty is pri.iarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No . 857-1528,
for the improvement of Maple Street , by constructing cement sidewalk
curb, gutter and concrete street , from Ridge to Harris Street . No.
one remonstrating, the Board approved a final assessment roll, con-
firming the original assessment roll heretofore approved and now .
direct the same be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 8 x0-1928
for the improvement of West Avenue, by constructing cement sidewalks
curb & gutter plantinj'; trees on both sides of street and paving the
roadway with either, Rock Asphalt , Sheet Asphalt , Concrete or Bitumi-
nous macadam from National Road to Southwest"B" Street .
The Board approved primary assessment rolls under Improvement Reso-
lution No. 067-1928 and 868-1925, for improvement of the alley 1st
south of West Main Street , from 4th to 5th Street, and alley between
Southwest 4th & 5th Street, running from 1st alley south of West
Main Street to 1st alley north of National Road.

The City Civil Engineer, reported the completion of contract
. under Improvement Resolution No. 853-1928, for cement roadway
in alley between Southwest i-th & 5th Street , from Southwest " C" tm
to "D" Street, same was accepted and primary assessment roll
approved.
The City Civil Engineer, reported the completion of contract
under Improvement Resolution No. 855-1928, for cement roadway
• in alley between Southwest 4th & 5th Street, from Southwest"D"
to " E" Street, same was accepted and primary assessment roll
approved.
The Board net to hear all persons interested or whose property
is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 875-1928., for the
improvement of South l4ti Street by constructing cement curb &
gutter planting trees, repairing sidewalks where necessary &
paving roadway with bituminous treated macadam surface on a
cinder-gravel foundation. After hearing all persons interested
(No one a.ppea..Ting) no remonstrance having been filed, the Board
decide that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed
for said improvements are equal to the cost of same as reported
by the city civil engineer and thereupon take action on said
resolution, the same being confirmed without modification.
The Board continued h-earing under Improvement Resolution No.
876-1928, to Thursday September 27th, 1928.

The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 879-
1928, for improvement of the 1st alley north of National Road
by constructing cement roadway from Southwest !;-th to 5th Street .
Claims in amount of 4 6247. 19 were allowed.
