The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond_, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday September 17th, 1928, at 9 o 'clock A. _i,;. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid, McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings • were had, to-wit : _ The Board authorized Street Commissioner to construct drive at 100 • South 7th Street on South "A" Street side, the same -to be paid for by the property owner. • . • - A communication to the Mayor. from Mrs .• Harriett F. Wright, claiming damages in amount of 36. 00 to garden produce destroyed . in construct- ion of sewer across her property in construction of Clear Creek Sewer System rear of East Haven Avenue, was presented, the . Clerk .directed to notify Mrs . Wright, if she .would render her bill for . ' the actual damages if .any, the Board will give the same further considerat ion. • - Street .Co missioner Baas _ instructed to purchase a. car load of Tarvia X, .for repair _work. ' A committee headed by Mrs . Hornaday, held a conference with the _Board relative to placing marker known as "Mother of Trails" along .National Road at Glen Miller Park, .the Board agree that they will furnish excavation & furnish labor for installing foundation and clear site for said marker, and set the time -to meet with the com- mittee on 'the ground at 2 P.M. today. ' . The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 878=1928 to improve the north one-half of South " L" Street,- by grading the street, from South 9th to 12th Street . • The Water Works corporation were instructed to extend the 6" water- main in Boyer Street, from Stevens Street to Williamsburgh Pike. Permission was granted Mrs. C. Besselma.n, to cut the curb on south side of South "A" . Street, in rear of South 7th Street #100. The Board enter into contract with the Wayne Automatic Stoker , Co. , for installing Iron Fireman Automatic Coal Burner, with the follow- ing clause attached to-wit : "This order is signed by the Board of Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, with the understanding that if the installation and operation of this equipment is not satis- factory to said Board after 60 days of operation same shall be re- moved by the vendor at his expense . If installation and operation • of this equipment after 60 days is satisfactory to said. Board, the Board agrees to authorize prompt payment to the vendor of not more • than 0.215.00 in full payment , "pur.chaser to run maxtxot service lines to control board. Signed by all members of Board of Works for City of Richmond, and Earl E. Jones for Wayne Automatic Stoker Co. , The Board enter into contract with A. W.Brayton Jr. , for landscape treatment for beautification of the light plant grounds, studies to be shown on a general layout plan, make all the necessary studies and plans set forth in contract for the flat fee of 0.000.00' and make the necessary trips of inspection for r 50.00 per trip, plus ' nominal expenses incident thereto. (See contract) 182 Monday September 17th, 1928. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No.872-1928, for the improvement of South 5th .Street, by constructing 5 ' cement sidewalks, curb & gutters on both •sides of street ; also grading the roadway where necessary; and necessary drainage, also, a cinder-gravel roadway 18 feet in width the full length thereof from South "N" to "N" St.-eet, as follows to-wit : " Pyle & Ridgeway, bid; 5 ' cement sidewalk - $1. 20 lin-ft .
