Thursday September 13th, 1928.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,. met
ih regular session at the office of said Board Thursday September
13th, 1928 at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs,
Reid, McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings
were had, to-wit :
Permission was granted Blume Bros. , , to cut the walk for purpose of
: ':. --
laying water drain across said walk on west side of North 8th St .
between Main and North "A" Streets, at Lot No . 13-Pt . C . W. Starrs,
Addition.
Permission was granted Arthur Miller & Wife, to cut the curb on
west side of Ridge Street Lot 58, Benton Heights Addition, between
School and Stevens St-eet.
Appraisers, Messrs, 'alter MCConaha, T.W.Hadley and Jesse A. Bailey
appointed by the Judge of Wayne Circuit Court , reported the following
valuations to-wit : The old fire station at corner of North "D" &
8th Streets, Lot 10-SP. Bickle & Laws Sub-Div. $4750.00, the brick
and stone building thereon $50. 00 total - $4800.00. The team of
horses and cow at Glen Miller Park, The Mare-$50.00; Horse- 15.00
Cow $100.00, total valuation $165.00. .
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 877-1928,
for improvement of South "E" Street, by grading the street the
full width thereof, from South 16th Street to the .west line of
Lot No. 52- Reeveston Addition.
The Board met to hear all persons interested, or whose property is
affected under Improvement Resolution No. 874-1925, for the improve-
ment of South 15th Street, by constructing cement curb & gutter,
grading and paving the roadway with a bituminous treated macadam
surface on a gravel-cinder foundation, planting of trees and repair
of sidewalks where necessary, from South "G" to "H" Street . No one
-remonstrating against said improvements. The Board decide that the
benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements
are equal to the cost of same as reported by the city civil engineer
and thereupon take action on said resolution, the same being con-
firmed without modification.
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under
Improvement Resolution No. 8 67-1928, for construction of cement
roadway in the alley 1st'. soutfi of West Main Street, from Southwest
4th to 5th Street . the Board accepted the same and order assessment
roll prepared. .
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under
Improvement Resolution NO. 86S-1928; for the improvement of the
alley between Southwest 4th & 5th Street, from 1st alley south of
West Main Street to the alley

In matter under consideration by the Board, as to the hear-

Street now called South Avenue and South "L" Street, from
- South 9th to 20th Street, under' Declaratory Resolution. No .
222-1928, the original hearing of which was fixed for Thursday
August 16th, 1928, and postponed from time to time, to inves-
tigate the remonstrances a 'f.iled. The Board on notion of Mr.
Henley, approved the final assessment roll of benefits and
. damages in matter of said proposed street openings, and direct
said roll be forthwith transmitted to the Depart,ilent of
nonce. J

The Board adopt a rule that whereas, heretofore in matter of
planting shade trees under Improvement Resolutions providing
therefor, has been very-unsatisfactory, contractors were in-:
eructed that in the future all bids. o tries were to be c
;i;3,00 per Free, and the Ci : , . Instructed the Superintendent of
.ea_rvs, to plant such trees upon instruction of contractors,
the cost to be deducted from assessment roll and staid to City,
and the City to assume responsibility for said trees, as pro--
vided for in the plans '_ specifications on said resolutions,
