The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board, Thursday August 9th 1928, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid, . McFall and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : Permission _was granted Harry D. Skaggs to cut the curb at 317 SW.ZIth S A petition for arc light at Southwest 5th & "E" Streets, was received and referred to Sup 't. , of Light Plant. Clerk was directed to notify the P .C.C.& St . L. Ry. Co. , to repair their crossings at Northwest 5th Street, North 8th and 12th Streets, The Board on the recommendation of Fire Chief, E. E. Miller, appointed Messrs, Earl H. Miller and Roy D. Hardy, as members of city Fire Department. _ The Board approved the contracts and bonds of Pyle & Ridgeway, con- tractors under Improvement Resolutions No 's. 867-1928 & 868-1928. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 873-1928, to improve Boyer Street, by constructing cement sidewalks, C. & G. on both sides of street, grading & paving the roadway with one of the following kinds of modern pavements, to-wit : Sheet Asphalt, Rock- Asphalt,Reinforced Concrete or Bituminous Macadam, also planting of trees, from Stevens .Street to Williamsburgh Pike. The Board directed the Finance Department to pay J. F.Hipskind, con- tractor on Outfall sewer & disposal plant, under Improvement Resolu- tion No. 849-1928, partial estimate in sum of $3, 009. 85. Clerk was directed to notify Frank Thomas, to repair the broken curb abutting his property No. 940 Sheridan Street . Street Commissioner was directed to cut the weeds in Beallview Park not as an obligation of the city, but more as an accommodation to persons using the same, until such time as city can ascertain to whom the same belongs to. Various complaints referred to Board from councilmen, where taken up for investigation. In matter of South"N" Street, Mr. Bockhoff was notified, that if his people will oil said street, from C.& O.R.R. to west end of their factory, the city would patch street between the points named after said oiling is done.
