The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board, Thursday August 2nd, 1928, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messirs, Reid, McFail and Henley, being present . The following pr.oceedings were had, to-wit : The Board granted permissionto cut the curb on east side of South 18th Street Lot 138, Reeveston Addition, to William Wessel./ The Board grant peimission to J. Kern to cut curb at 607 Sheridan Street. A petition for vacation of alley, between South 8th St. & C.& 0. right of way, from South "P" to "Q" Street, Clerk instructed to notify interested property owners to meet i ith i them Monday August 6th, 1928, to discuss the advisability of such vacation. • The Board awarded contractor certificates to John F. . Hipskind, on Clear Creek Trunk & Lateral sewer, # 55-56 & 57, in amounts of$5; 000 $5,000.00 & $7758..43, The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 859-1928, assessment roll ordered. The Board awarded contract for improvement of South " L" Street , under ,, Improvement Resolution No. 864-192 , to W. L. Magaw, and approved . the contract and bond of said W. L. Magaw, contractor for: said im- ,K proveaent of South " L" Street from South 5th to 9th Street . The Board awarded contract to Old Ben Coal Co. , for 20, 000 tons of Nut & Slack Coal, at 4l.00 per ton f. o.b.mines, for the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant . Thie Clerk was directed to request Geo. J . Derbyshire, ten. Sup 't . , of C.& O.Ry. Co. , to meet with them Monday August 20th, 1928, to discuss better coal handling facilities for light. plant. The Richmond Water Works Corporation, were directed to install 6" water main in South " L" Street from South 5th to 9th Street , instead of 12" heretofore ordered; also, to remove fire hydrants from South 9th & "A" Streets and from let alley south of Main Street in South 9th Street, account of widening of. street. • . W. S. Lancaster, was ordered to have the pipe on South 9th Street, placed there by hip, for filling of spr inkling: wagon, removed.- The Police Dept . requested that ' the Light Plant , have the parking lines made along str ets, instead of btr-eet Dept . , referred to Sup 't. of Light Plant .
