City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday May 21st, 1928.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session at the office of said Board on Monday •
May 21st, 1928, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said •
Board, •:Messrs, neid, McFall and Henley, being present. The
. following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The Board directed the Clerk to notify 0. G. Whelan to fill

and pave the scale pit in South 6th Street, at his lace of
business.
Upon recommendation of Police Commissioners, the purchasing
agent was directed to make 84 signs to be attached on the orna-
mental light posts, to read "'ark Limit this souare 1 hour
Police Order" .
A petition for improvement of Harris Street, from Maple to
School Street was received & refered- to Engineering uept . ,
Privilege for gardening in Clear Yreek Park bottoms was upon
payment of $410.00, granted to Curtis Rush, for 1928 season.
The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 223-
1925, to open and extend West Avenue, Also, to open a street
south of the East Haven Avenue School, which will be called
Southwest "B" Street, from George Ave. to East Haven Avenue. , .

Tile Board discussed the matter of playground equipment for
Southwest 7th Street Park, as requested by Mrs. J.W.Hensel
after investigation it was discovered the City had no avail-
a:ble appropriation to purchase such equipment , and as 'the
City paid approximately 42, 000.00 per annum to the School
Trustees for re-creational purposes, the Clerk was instructed
to notify Mrs. Hansel of this fact and to advise her to take
up - the matter of playground equipMent for this park, with the
School authorities of Richmond .
Payroll were approved to May 16th, 1928.
Claims in amount of $20, 289. 69, were allowed.
The Clerk was instructed to notify, the Shera Coal & Oil Co. ,
to remove the gasoline pump from the curb at 18 & 20 South
7th - Street, as the same is not being used.
