HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-10-1928 Office of Board of Public Works, 135 City of Richmond, Indiana , Thursday May 10th, 1928. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday May 10th, 1928, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs,Reid, McFa.il and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : The Clerk reported the various complaints received at last session of council, referred to Mr. Henley, to take up and advise St, Com. Communication from Police Commissioners was received, as to marking North"A"Street, from 5th to 12th, for parallel parking, referred to Street Department ; also, requesting that a stop & go traffic signal be placed at West let & Main Streets, instead of 22nd & Main, Sun 't. of Light Plant instructed to place said signal as requested. The Park Sup 't. , wa.s directed to install playground equipment at the Day Nursery. Water main extension ordered in South 9th Street, 10" main from South Street, south 200 feet . Clerk was directed to notify D.Chapman,Dairy Inspector, to have the Auto used by him, repaired at City Garage in the future. The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 861-1928, for cement road- way in alley between South 9th & 10th Street, from South"A"Street to 1st alley south of Main Street . No one remonstrating. The Board de- cide that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed are equa: to the cost of improvement as reported by the Engineer, and thereupon take final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed with- out modification. The Clerk was directed to notify the property owners abutting on East Haven Ave . , that if they will make the proper service taps and extend the same within the curb line of said street, the city will repair said street, and fix a date of hearing as May 28th, 1928. The following bids were received for painting Starr Park House, No ' s. 3 & 4 hose houses as follows, viz : " Fred Clark, bid; Paint - $211. 65 - labor - $259.80, Total material & labor-$471.fl-5. " J. S. Logan, bid; Labor & Material 1, coat - $371.90; Two coat work - •$593.35 "011ie Mains, bid; Labor & Material, 1 coat - ¢387.00; Two coat work - $657.00 " R.B .Drnley, bid; Labor & Material, 1 coat - $400.00; Two coat work - } 740. 00/ The bid of Fred Clark, not being properly made, the same was not considered; and contract awarded to J .
