Thursday April 26th, 1928.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday April
26th, 1928, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs
Reid, McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings
w.,4.4 had, to-wit :
Permission was granted Arthur Thomas, to cut curb on east side of
South 141-th St. bet . S"F" & "G" Sts. Lot 39, Brown 's, Addition.
Permission was granted Forest Monger to construct a concrete drive-
way on South "B" Street in rear of S .W.corner of South "B" & 7th St.
Petition was presented signed by H.R.Robinson, et-al, requesting
the interurban railroad tracks be moved from south side of ldation-
a.l Road, to the center of road, from West llth Street west to west
city limits, referred to Prest . Reid of the Board to present to
officials of Interurban Railroad Co. , at Indianapolis, Indiana.
A petition was presented for improvement of National Road, by con-
structing cement curb & gutter and paving remainder of road to the
said gutter, from East Haven Avenue, east to west line of Lerlham
Cemetery, with bituminous macadam, held under advisement for action
by railroad conpa.ny, as to ::loving tracks to center of roadway.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 863-1928
to improve Ridge Street, by constructing cement sidewalks, C.& G.
planting trees on both sides of street, - and paving roadway with one
of the following modern pavements, viz : Reinforced Concrete, Sheet
Asphalt, Rock Asphalt or Bituminous Macadam, from Stevens Street to
North corporation limits .
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.864-1928
to improve South "L" Street;by constructing cement curb & gutter
on both sides of street, grading & paving the roadway as follows:
Paving with Reinforced Concrete, Sheet Asphalt , Rock Asphalt, or
Bituminous Macadam, 18 foot in width thru the center; also, paving
the remainder of the roadway to the edge of gutter on both sides
with surface treated macadam on a cinder base, from South. 5th to
9th Street .
The Board enter into agreement with The Earlham Cemetery, in matter
of acquiring right of way, by the City thru Earlham Cemetery, for
construction and maintenance of a sanitary sewer for disposal plant
1/ according to plans and specifications for construction of said sewer
and disposal plant , upon the payment by the City td said Earlharn
Cemetery, the sum of } 4-00.00 as damages
The Board approved the contract & bond of the Hayes Construction Co.
contractors for applying "TARf" on city streets during the summer
of 1928.
