Thursday April 12th, 1928.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday April
12th, 1925, at 9 o ' clock A. M. All the members of said Board
Messrs, Reid, McFail and Henley being present . The following
proceedings were had, to-wit :
The Board }net to hear all persons interested or whose proper-
ty is affected under Improvement Resolution Na. 5 56-192v, for
improvement of School Street, by constructing cement curb, gutter
and 6 ' sidewalks on both .sides of street, planting trees and _
grading and paving the roadway with reinforced concrete where
street is not already paved, constructing 20" sewer pipe in
street for future sewers, from Sheridan to NW. 5th Street .
After hearing all persons interested who appeared and care-
fully considering the verbal remonstrances against paving the ; •
roadway at this time, the Board of notion modified said resolu-
tion by striking out the paving of roadway and constructing of
sewer, and as modified the Board unanimously confirmed .said
resolution, to read for 6 ' ce:aent sidewalks, curb and gutter cx.
planting of trees on both sides of said School Street between
the points named. -

Pursuant to advertisement, the Board received bids for furnish-
ing and applying tar •on the city streets during the summer of •
1928, as follows to-wit : •
" Hayes Construction Co. , bid;
To furnish & apply tar 0. 15. 2c1. per gallon
• " L. P. Carrett Co . , bid ;
To gurnish & apply tar :; 0 . 1(!. per r llo.n
the bid of the Hayes Construction Co. , being the lowest the
contract was so awarded.
The Board of Public Works sign a release, releasin[_ Jhhn Graf
.of this City, upon the payment of the sum of 4 30O.00, to be
paid to Aurthur Thomas, contractor, thru the city, said sum of
money being paid by The Southern Surety Co . , for damages to
Market House, by truck running wild into said Market House.
The Board received and accepted the resignation of Harry B .
Bradfield, as a members of City Fire Department , the same to
take effect April 15, 1928.
The Board arpoint Russell Sullivan, as a member of City Fire

The Board accept the Plat to be known as Ravina P5•rk, Addition
consisting or Lots number 1 to 105 both inclusive, streets
all dedicated to the public use.
The Board granted permission to the Stegal Funeral Home to
cut the curb on west side of North 10th Street , Lot No. �9x
Elizabeth Starrs, Addition.
The Board granted mermissi on -to John A. Comer to cut the curb
at 401 North 22nd Street .

A petition for improvement of the Alley between South 9th and
10th Street, by constructing cement roadway the full width
thereof, fro .i South i"A" Street north to 1st alley south of
k" in Street was received and referred to Bn ineeering Dept,
The Board approved the contract & bonds of W. L. Malta;., con-
tractor under Improvement Resolution No. 853 & 855-1 2`,.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No . 859-1928,
for the construction of a Sanitary Sewer in the alley between
Boyer & Ridge Street, from Stevens Street to the Williamsbur
Pike.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 8:S0-19 8
for Sanitary Sewer in the Territory between school Street & the
North Corporation line and between Marrs Street and the G. R. & I .
Railroad .
A communication from The City Betterment Committee of the Woman ' s
Club, earnestly requesting the Boar:' of Public Works to co-o.Jerate
with them upon theri annual " Clean-up Uam7.) i_gnhi , from April 28th
to May . 5th, 1328. The Board unanimously endorse the campaign, end
direct the Clerk to notify Mrs . F. W. Stephens, Chairman, - of their
enthusiastic support and co-operation in the matter.
