The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
. regular session at the office of said Board Monday March 26th, 192g,
at 9 o ' clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid,
McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings were
had, t0-wit :
I/ The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, in matter of final
assessment roll under Declaratory Resolution No . 219-1927, providing
for the opening of -Gilbert Avenue north of West Main Street (See
resolution for description) . No one remonstratin , the Board being
duly advised in the premises, unanimously approve a final assessment
. roll of benefits & damages as heretofore approved, and now direct
the same be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance, and
said Gilbert Avenue is declared opened as described.
The Board met of hear remonstrances, of persons whose property is
- primarily assessed in the matter of benefits & damages under Declare
tory Resolution No. 220-1928, for condemnation and appropriation of
right of way for sewer in territory west sof iv.ICJ. 10th Street end
north of Peacock Road, (see resolution for description) . No one re-
mon ,trating, the Board unanimously approved a final assessment roll
of benefits & damages confirming the primary roll as heretofore
confirmed, and now direct the same be -forthwith transmitted to the
Department of Finance, and said right of way is herewith declared
annropria.ted for sewer as above described.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 857-1928,
for the improvement of Maple Street , "by constructing cement curb,
gutter & 4 foot sidewalks on both sides of atreet and grading and
paving the roadway with one of the following kinds of city pavements,
Sheet Asphalt ; Rock Asphalt ; Reinforced Concrete or Bituminous Macad-
am, also planting trees, from Ridge to west line of Harris Street.
Permission was granted M.R.Pohl:neyer, :to cut the curb in rear of
501-503 South "B" Street ; also at 50-I South 14th Street .
. The City Civil Engineer, made report of amount of bids for sewers
under Resolution No ' s, 8 -&-849-1928, and recommended that before
award is made, that the agreement with the State be consummated and
appropriations by the City Council for city ' s part be obteined.

The- Board received bids for printing of legal notices or paid print-
ed matter for City for year ending March 31, 1929, as follows :
The Richmond Item, bid;
For first insertion & each additional insertion . 570 per hundred word.
This being the only bid received, contract was so awarded.
The Board then adjourned,
