M. Al]: the members of said Beard, . • Messrs, Reid, McFa.il and Henley being present . The following • prodeedings were had, to-wit : The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 851-1928., for the improvement of the alley between North l8th & 19th Street, by constructing cement roadway the full width thereof, ' from North "C" to "E" Street . No one appearing or remonstrating against said improvement . The Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost thereof as reported by the City Civil Engineer and thereupon take action said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification. • As per request the Judge of Wayne Circuit Court, appointed Messrs, J . A. Bailey; T.W.Ha.dley & J. F.Davenport, appraisers to appraise buildings to be sold by the city, acquired in opening of South 5th Street and in the widening of North " A" Street . A letter was received from Chas. Johanning, praying that South "L" Street between Liberty Ave . and South 8th Street, be inves- tigated and relief given in matter of proper drainage, referred to City Engineer and Street Commissioner to investigate and report. • A petition was received signed by E.P .Hewitt and Howard Myers requesting relief ak be given account of sewers overflowing in rainy weather casing water to back up into the premises in the vicinity of North 21st & "D" Streets, referred to City .Engineer and Street Commissioner for investigation. and report . A petition was received, requesting action be taken to warn the traffic of the dangerous condition of the crossings at North 19th Street and New. Paris Pike, taken under advisement . In matter of petitions before the Board, in opening of South 20th Street, from "A" to "B" Street, on motion of Mr. Henley the Board reject both petitions, as they did not propose that the City get into legal controversy, and suggested Messrs, Leeds and Willett dry and settle their differences of opinion concerning said opening. The Clerk was directed to advertise for 50, 000 gal. more or less of Tarvia or road oil for city streets during summer of 1928. A commnication together with claim for dues to Indiana Associa- . tion of Park Departments, was received and ordered placed on file, as the City was not a member of the association. • The Board sign agreement of lease & license, leasing to Reid Memorial Hospital, what is known e.s the gravel pit . (see lease) and order ordinance prepared and submitted to council for rati- fication & approval. The Board then adjourned, r:,. Prest . of Board
