The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday March 1st, 1928, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the Members of said Board, Messrs, Reid, McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : A Petition signed by Rudolph G. Leeds, to open South 20th Street from South "A" Street to connect with said 20th Street at South II "B" Street, was received, after some discussion entered into by the Board and Mr. Reller .Atty. for Mr. leeds, the Board take same under advisement until Thursday March 8th, 1928. • A dedication- of street on a curve for opening South 20th Street from "A" to "B" Street signed by Garland Willett was .received and taken under advisement, until Thursday March 8th, 1928 . The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected under Improvement Resolution No . `50-1928, for the • improvement of South 9th Street, by the const?uction of new curb against the present sidewalk and grading and paving the roadway between the edge of present roadway and the new curb with one of the following kinds of modern pavements , to-wit : Rock Asphalt, oheet Asphalt ; Asphaltic Concrete or Bituminous Macadam, from South "A" Street to the first alley north. After hearing all per- . sons interested who appeared, no remonstrance having been pres- ented. The Board decide that the city will pay for the cost of the new curb, the abutting property to be assessed for paving of • roadway, the Board decides that the benefits to the property li- able to be assessed for .the cost of roadway are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon take action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification. • A letter .tias, received from Police Department requesting additional traffic signals on Main .Street east be installed, the same was referred to Sup 't . , Hess of Light Plant fo.r estimates etc. , In matter _of installation of lights requested by councilmen at their last meeting, the. Board upon the recommendation of Mr. Hess decide that present conditions does .not justify a light at Peacock Road & Northwest 9th Street, and instruct light plant to place an arc light at South qth & "Q" Street . • The Board approved Payrolls to March 1st, .192 . • • The Board then adjourned, ///://r 1.
