The Board ,of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday February • 16th, 1928, s_t 9 o ' clock A. M. All the members of said Board be- ing present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : A petition was presented for the improvement of Parry Street, by constructing cement sidewalks, curb gutter and roadway,, and in- stalling water main, from South 9th to 13th Street , referred to City Engineer for investigation and report . / A petition for the improvement of the alley between Southwest 4th & 5th Street, by constructing cement roadway the full width there- of, from Southwest " C" to "D" Street was received and referred to City Engineer for investigation- and resolution. In matter of petition presented by R.G.Leeds for the opening of South 20th Street on a straight line from South"A" to "B" Street and referred to City Plan Commission on January 30th, 1928, the City Plan Commission reported as follows, to-wit-: At the regular meeting of the City Plan Commission, Monday Feb- ruary 13th, 1928, the petition for opening of- South 20th Street was considered and the opinion of the Commission was that they cannot favor the opening of the street along the line mentioned in the petition on account of its making. a jog at South- "B" St. with South 20th Street in Reeveston Additidn. A remonstrance was received from Garland Willett remonstrating and objecting to the proposed opening of South 20th Street as petition for by 'R. G. Leeds . After considerable discussion in the' matter Mr. Henley moved that upon the recommendation or report as submitted; by the City Plan Commission, the Board do not consider the petition for opening said 20th Street as petition for by• Mr. Leeds, seconded by Mr. McFall, motion unanimously prevailed. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.852-1928 for the improvement of North 12th Street, by constructing "c`ement sidewalks and curb & gutter on both sides of street, from North " E" to "J" Street, except where cement walk is already laid and is in good condition. • • - A communication was received from Mrs. Chas. Posther, reporting bad condition of roadway along the rail fence at bridge crossing C.& O.Ry. Tracks in South 9th Street ; also to reckless driving along this street, Washout and fence referred to Street Commis- sioner, reckless driving referred to police department.
