Monday December 19th, 1927.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday December
19th, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Board,
Messrs, Reid, McFail and Henley being present. The following:
proceedings were had, to-wit :
The Clerk reported that John F. Hipskind, had paid into the
City Treasury the sum of $598.28, for damages to the pumper
by one of his trucks, he to receive the radiator and tires11 .
damaged by the accident .
The Board pursuant to postponment to this date, met to hear re-
monstrances if any, of persons _interested or whose property is
affected by Declaratory Resolution No. 217-1927, for the con-
demnation and appropriation of a 20 foot right of way for sewer
maintenance and construction thereof., in ground south of National
Road thru Ea.rlham Cemetery grounds and other ground outside of
the City of Richmond, Indiana, the Board again continue hearing
on said resolution to Thursday December 22nd, 1927, 9. A.M.
The Board received recommendation from The City Plan Commission
recommending that en ordinance be prepared and presented to the
common council, defining a set back line .on both _sides of South
9th Street from Main. to South "A" Street, compelling all future
buildings on either side of said street to be set back _ 5 feet
from the present street lines, making the street 70 feet wide
in anticipation of the street being widened to a width of 70
feet in the near future. The Board approve recommendation and
direct ordinance be submitted to council.
The Board received letter from Geo. J. Derbyshire, Gen. Sup 't . ,
of the C. & 0. Ry. Co. , notifying the Board if they would set
a date subsequent to January 5th, 1928, he would arrange for a
meeting with the Board and to have the chief engineer of his
company present that the plans may be fully discussed, in __utter _
of South 9th Street bridge crossing said railroad and certain
streets requested by said company to be vacated. The Board direct
the Clerk to notify Mr. Derbyshire, they will be glad to meet
with them January 12th, 1928 if agreeable, unless some unfor-
seen incident happens in which case they would notify him of
change in date.
Payrolls to December 16th, 1927, were allowed.
Claims in amount of $16, 989.89 were allowed.
