Thursday December 8th, 1927.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session at the office of said Board Thursday December 8th,
1927, . at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the -members of said Board, Messrs,
Reid, McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings
were had, to-wit :
The Board upon recommendation of Police Commissioners award the con-
tract for two automobiles to The Bethard Auto Co. , for two Paige
Coach type automobiles at price of ;,$1500.00 and the two old cars
of police department in trade. as per bids heretofore received.
' The appraisers appointed by the Judge of Wayne Circuit Court, Messrs,
- W. McConaha, W. McWhinney & S. Jaffe, reported the value of the old
"Dodge Touring Car G $25.00; the old Chevrolet Touring Car- $100.00
and the old steam road roller @ $350.00.
The Sup 't . of Light Plant was directed to install arc lights in Hunt
Street north of school St ;, South.. 23rd St . between Main & S. "A" insteac
of bet . "A" & "B" Street and one at Southwest 5th -& "D" Street.
The Sup 't. , of Light Plant was authorized to take out additional'
insurance on equipment at the plant in sum- of $105, 000.00 and $5, 000
- additional on buildings. He was also authorized to expend not to ex-
ceed the sum- of y$100.00, for candies etc . , for employes of the plant
• ' for Christmas.
The Clerk was directed to notify the .. Traffic Post Co. , to remove the
posts at North 7th & 9th & "A" -Streets ; also, at West. Main` & 5th St.
, - -and re-set the one at North 8th Street north of railroad, within ten
days,- or the city will remove the same - `
The Clerk was directed to request Pyle & Ridgeway contractors; and
A. Gordon of City -Street Car Co. , to meet with the Board Monday Dec.
12th, 1927.
' ' The City Civil Engineer, presented estimated cost of new curb and
' changing inlets at 4P550.00 to the City for widening of pavement on
west side of South 9th Street, from 1st alley south of Main to South
"A" Street.
The Board then adjourned,
