HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-05-1927 8E3 Office of Board of Public Works, • City of Richmond, Indiana, Monday December 5th, 1927. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana., met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday December 5th, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board,Messrs, Reid, McFall and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose prop- erty is primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No.84J-1--1927, for construction of sewer in alley 1st east_ of Boyer Street, from School to Stevens Street. No one remonstrating the Board approved a final assessment roll confirming the original, asEessment roll heretofore approved, and now direct the same be forthwith trans- mitted to the Depa.r tment of Finance. The Board urranimouslyradopted Declaratory Resolution No. 218-1927, for the widening of North "A" Street 5 feet on north side thereof from North 5th to 7th Street, where not already widened. The Board ordered arc lights placed as heretofore recommended by Sup 't. , of Light Plant, except that two lights be placed in Parry Street, one at South "Q" & 5th Streets, and the light be not in- stalled in South 12th Street, between South "A" & "B" Street. A petition signed by Arvilla Blossom & 14 others praying that a water main be laid in Ridge Street, from Stevens Street to the north corporation limits of city. The condition of the street is Such, the Board instructed the Clerk to return the petition to said A.Blossom, requesting that the petition to have the street made, before water main is laid. The Board approved the recommendation of Police Commissioners in matter of selecting two Paige Coach type automobiles for said police department . The Police Commissioners recommended that the Board try marking the safety Zones at 8th & Main Streets, with cement, by cutting m out the brick and pouring in with cement , The Board take same under advisement until better weather conditions prevail. The Board received letter from Indiana State Highway Commission urging very strongly that if the South 9th Street bridge is built it ' be so constructed as to avoid the placing of any kink in South 9th Street,&making the roadway straight . Claims in amount of $25, 959. 52 were allowed. The Board then adjourned, Attest : Prest . of B'oard Clerk of Board
