The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday November 28th, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A. M. Messrs, McFail and Henley being present ; Mr. Reid, Hein absent. Two members Of said Board being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : Permission was granted C. S. Patterson to cut the curb at No. 626 South 9th Street, for driveway. I/ Communication was received from Swayne, Robinson & CO. , request- ing the City to purchase castings said company now has on hand at the price the city is paying for such, same was referred to Street Commissioner The Board approved contract with the General Electric Company for Meters for year 192g. Mr. Hess, Sup 't. , of M.E.L.& P.P. was directed to purchase new stop & go signals as to proposition submitted by him and endors- ed by Fire Chief and Police Commmssioners . Street Commissioner was directed to repair the approach to the South 9th Street bridge crossing the C. & 0. Railroad, as the same is reported to be in a dangerous and unsafe condition. Street Commissioner was directed to have traffic lines marked as shown on drawings submitted by Police Comalissioner,Beebe, and to check up location of these lines with the principal, before painting said lines, whenever the weather permits. A petition for water main in South "N" Street from South 5th Street to alley west of South -I-th Street, was received and re- ferred to Water Works for investigation & report . The Clerk was directed to notify the property owners, to remove the fences & out-buildings along the alley between South 5th & 6th Street, from South- "A" Street north to- 2nd alley south of Main Street, alley recently opened. The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any, of persons whose • property is primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 833-1927, for- the improvement- of South 22nd Street, from South "B" Street to the Reeveston Road. No one remonstrating the Board approved a final assessment roll, confirming the mx± original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and now direct the sane be forthwith transmitted forthwith to the Department of I/ Finance. The Board unanimously rescinded Declaratory Resolution No.199- 1926, for the widening of North "A" Street, on north side of Street, from North 5th Street east to private alley and said Street, from North- 6th Street east to alley between North 6th and 7th Street. Monday November 28th, 1927. 85 The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any, of persons interested or whose property is affected under Declaratory Resolution No. 211- 1927, for widening of George Avenue, from the National Road to John Street. No one appearing or remonstrating, the Board being duly ad- vised in the premises, confirm former action taken on said resolution without modification, and direct that a list or roll be prepared, of the owners or holders of property injuriously affected or the propert sought to be taken, which list or roll shall also describe the proper ty beneficially affected.. The Board met to hear remonstrances, of persons interested in or whose property is affected under Declaratory Resolution No.212-1927, for the widening of Charles Avenue(25 '0) from West Main Street to the north line of Earlham Heights, Addition. Wo one appearing or remon- strating and the Board being duly advised in the premises, take actio on said resolution the ' same being confirmed without modification, and direct that a list or roll be prepared, of all owners or holders of property injuriously affected or sought to be taken, which list or roll shall also described the property beneficially affected. The Board met to hear remonstrances, of persons _interested in, or whose property is affected under Declaratory Resolution No.213-1927, for the condemnation of right-of-way for a sewer over and across a portion of the North-east quarter of Section No. 31, Township 13, Range 1, West. No one app'eraing or remonstrating the Board being duly advised in the premises, take action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification, and direct that a list or roll of all the owners or holders of property injuriously affected or of property right to be taken, which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially affected. The Board met to hear remonstrances, of persons interested in, or whose property is affected under Declaratory Resolution No. 2l-l--1927, for the condemnation of right-of-way for construction of sewer over and across a part of the South-west quarter of Section 31, Township 14, Range 1, West .No one appearing or remonstrating the Board being advised in the premises, take action on said resolution, the same be- ing confirmed without modification, and direct thdit a list or roll be prepared, of all owners or holders of property injuriously affecte or sought to be taken, which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially affected. The Board met to hear remonstrances, of persons interested in, or whose property is affected under Declaratory Resolution No. 215-1927, for condemnation of right-of-way to construct sewer over and across a part of Northeast Quarter Section 1, Twp.13,Rngel,west , and a part of Southeast Quarter Section 36, Twp. 14, Rnge, 1, West . No one remon- strating and the Board being advised in the premises, take action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification, and now direct that a list or roll of all owners or holders of property be prepared, injuriously affected and sought to be taken, which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially affected. . 6 Monday November 28th, 1927. ' The Board met to hear remonstrances, of persons interested in, - or whose property is affected under Declaratory Resolution No. 216-1927, for the condemnation -of right-of-way for construct- ion of sewer over and across the following territory,- Begin- ning at a point 142 ' north of National Road on east side of WEx.xk_ West Avenue; thence in a northeasterly direction to a point 1671 north of National Road on west side of George Avenue, said right of way being 20 ' wide. No one remonstrating and the Board being advised in the premises, the Board take final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification. And the Board now orddr that a list or roll be prepared of all owners or holders of property injuriously affected or siught I/ to be taken, which list or roll shall also describe the proper- ty beneficially affected. The Clerk was directed to notify the members of Common Council to meet at city hall Friday December 2nd, at 7 30 P . M. and take part in the automobile para.der'sponsored by the Retail - Merchants Association, to celebrate the lighting of the new ornamental light post system, autos, to be provided by said association. Upon recommendation of Su-pit . , Hess, the Board ordered arc lights placed as follows, viz : S.W.lOth & National Road, S.W 10th & "A" Sts; Church Street north of National Road; Peacock Road & 10th Street; Sherman Street west of Sheridan St ; Ratliff & School Streets; South "L" & C.& 0.Railroad; Smitht-I-2t-h—Stet ; . -lightts in Parry Street ; South 18th St. between Main & South"A"St ; South 23rd Street, between "A" & $130,' nd between Reeveston Road & South "E" Street ; making 12 lights to be installed, Mr. Hess, recommended that placing of lights as follows be deferred, Church & Nat '1.Rd; College Ave & 'SW.
