HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-10-1927 Office of Board of Public Works -.79 City of Richmond, Indiana, Thursday November loth,1927. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday November 10th, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid, McFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : County Surveyor Geo. Gault , in answer to Boards letter for meeting with County Commissioners, wrote that he had arranged a meeting with said Commissioners & Board, for Saturday November 12th, at 1.30 P.P . in Commissioners room at Court House. The Board direct the Clerk to notify Mr.. Gault, they would attend said meeting. The Board adopted Resolution to improve North 8th Street, also, Fort- Wayne Ave, just north of railroad, by installing three additional lights & light posts, to be added to light system as heretofore adopted. The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose property is primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 840-1927, for improvement of the alley between Crosshall & Boyer Street, by con- structing cement roadway from Grant to School Street. No one remon- strating the Board approved a final assessment roll confirming in all things the original assessment roll as heretofore approved. And now direct the same be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance, The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose property is primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 846-1927, fom the improvement of the 1st alley north of Linden Ave, by constructing cement roadway from Ridge Street west to. the 1st alley west of Hunt Street. No one remonstrating the Board approved a final assessment roll confirming in all things the original assessment roll as hereto- for approved. And now direct the same be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance. In matter of damages sustained to the American La-France Pumping Engine of the City Fire Department, which was damages by gravel truck belonging to John F. Hipskind, while said pumper was responding to an alarm of fire. Chief Miller submitted the following claims for re- pairs to said pumper as follows, to-wit : American La-France Fire Engine Company 271.88 Kamman and Company 198.00 E. C. Routh 128.E-0 The Board directed the Chief to report the full amount of said claims-- 598.28, to City Attorney with instructions to said attorney to collect said amount of damages from John F. Hipskind. The Clerk was directed to communicate with Geo. Derbyshire Sup 't. of C.& O.R.R.to ascertain if possible, what is being done in regard to new bridge in South 9th Street over their tracks.
