. The Board of Public :Yorks of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday September
• 19th 1927, at 9 o 'clock A. fi. Messrs, McEla it and Henley present .
Mr. eid, absent, Two members of said Board being present , the
following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The Board approved a plat representing )5 town lots, No. 1 to LV
inclusive, lying between South 13th & 15th Street, and form a point
60 ' north of South- "P" Street to South "Q" Street, to be known as
the South View, .Addition.
The Board directed the Water Works Co. , to connect the water main
extension in South "E" Street, to both the 18th & Street h 1 t �re,.c mains
and to place fire hydrant at South 19th & " E" Streets .
The Board ordered a red light placed at Southwest 1st Street and the
National Road, in connection with the ornamental lighting system.
The Board received petitions & letters of agreement , . from the School
City, and property owners on south side of Peacock Road, between
gOmthwest 8th & 9th Streets, petitioning and agreeing \to .pay for the
intersection of street on south side of said Toad and Pr. nth Street .
The Board order the contractor on said road to do the necessary
work in constructing said intersection at price named in his bid for
improvi_nc said street .
A remonstrance against the vacation of Southwest 9th Street, from
Main to Southwest "A" Street was received, and referred to City Plan
Commission.
A communication from Geo. Derbyshire, Sup 't . , of C.& 0. Railroad Co. ,
that Oct . 6th, 1927, would be most convenient for him to meet with
Board in matter of South 9th Street bridge.
Co:Th unications were received from Police Commissioners, requesting
that the Stop signs be changed from ceneter street to the right side
of street by Street Department ; also requesting the Board to take
proper steps to purchase two light Coach type automobiles for use
• of Police Department, and trade in the old Dodge Car . , taken under
advisement for future consideration of the whole Board.
The City Civil Engineer, reported . the completion of contract under
I :,provement . Resolution No. 826-1927, for improvement of Southwest
1st Street, from West MM4a_in Street to National Road, same was accepte
and assessment roll ordered n_repared.
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under
Improvement R,solution No. 839-1927, for. cement alley between South
. 12th & 13th Street, from South "B" to " C" Street , same was accepted
and assessment roll ordered. prepared.
The Board directed the Clerk to mwepa.re a;onromriation ordinances
to cover additional transformers and sub-station for. Municipal

The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No . 8-3-
1927, for the impr<^ovement of Hunt Street, by constructing cement
sidewalks wide, curb & ru tt er and paving roadway with one of
the followin kinds of city pavements, to-wit : Re-inforced con-
crete; Sheet Asphalt; Rock Asphalt or Bituminous Macadam, from
School Street to north corporation limits of city, as follows :
" Pyle & Ridgeway, bid;
Street Complete o" re-inforced concrete---- 17.39 linear foot
" W. L. Magaw, bid;
Street complete Bituminous Macadaml'0.90 linear foot
�' Rock Asphalt or Concrete---- 17. 50 " "
" John F. Hipskind, bid;
Street Complete, Rock Asphalt or Concrete--0_7. 65 linear foot
The Board now designate that said street be paved using re-
inforced concrete
The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution iNo. ;1.1 -1927,
providing for a sanitary sewer in alley east of Boyer -Street,
from School to Stevens Street, as follows to-wit :
" John F. Hipskind, bid;
Sewer Complete 42.. 0 per linear foot
" E. A. Mariani, bid;
sewer Complete N3 . 0 per linear foot
The bid of J . F. Hipskind, being the lowest and being within
-the estimate of city engineer, the contract was so awarded.
The Board received bids for improvement of Southwest 4th Street,
by constructing cement sidewalk 5 ' wide, curb & gutter, grading
& paving the roadway with surface treated macadam, from West Main
Street to Nationalunder Improvement6 - 5.- 92 Road, T1o . ��J 1,�7,
as follows, to-wit :
" W. L. Magaw, bid: • _
Street Complete 4 12 c0 per linear root
" John F. Hipskind, bid;
Street Complete 0.2. 65 per linear foot
The bid of W. L. agaw, being the lowest and being within the
@stimate .of city engineer, the contract was so awarded.
0ontraTj,^torti certificate #50 in amount- of : 229l .00 was awarded
to J.F.Hipskind under improve<<ent of Southwest 10th Street from
Main Street to National Road Resolution No . 819-1927.
Claims in amount of 0_5, 004D 55 were allowed, and the Board ap-
proved the various payrollsto September 16, 1927.
