The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday beptem- ber 1st, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid, McFail and Henley being present . The following Proceedings were had, to-wit : The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 844-1927, for the construction of Sanitary Sewer in 1st alley east of BoyerStreetI/ from School to Stevens Street. After hearing all persons in- trested who appeared (no one appearing) The Board decide that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements .are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon take action on said resolu- tion the same being confirmed without modification. - The Board met to hear all persons -interested or whose property • is affected under Improvement Resolution No. &--5-1927, -for the - -improvement of Southwest 4th Street, by constructing 5ft . cement sidewalks, curb & gutter & planting of trees on both sides of • - - street and grading -and paving the roadway with surface treated macadam,. from West Main Street -to the National Road. After hear- - ing all persons -interested who appeared. The Board decide _-that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said imprku. improvements are equal to the cost of same as reported by t=te city civil engineer, and thereupon take action on said resolu- tion, 'the same being confirmed by adding trees to same. The Board directed the clerk to request the Indiana Gas Utili- ties Co. , to lay gas main in Southwest 4th Street, from Main to National Road. The Board directed the Richmond Water Works Corporation to lay 6" water main in Southwest firth Street, from Main to National Rd. In matter of remonstrance filed against the improvement of Hunt Street, from School •Street to north corporation limits, under Improvement Resolution No. 843-1927. The City civil engineer . reported there are lc resident property owners residing along the line of said improvement , 6 of whom have signed the remonstrance 2/3rds of the resident owners being petitioners, the Board over- rule said remonstrance, and confirm actions heretofore taken. in amending said resolution, and order the clerk to advertise for . bids fa same. The Board received plans for a new bridge across the C. & O. Railway tracks in South 9th Street , which were referred to the - City Civil Engineer, together with letter attached signed by Geo. J. Derbyshire, General Superintendent of C . & O. Railroad. The Board signed contract with Black & Veatch, Consulting En- gineers in matter of disposal works & sewage in clear creek area, making letter received from said engineers August 25, 1927, ex- plaining certain parts a part of contract, and direct the clerk to copy said contract for signature of Black & Veatch. 5f5 Thursday September 1st, 1927. The Board take up proposals received August 29th, 1927, for furnish- . ing and installing 16000 ft . cast sectional boiler in basement of city hall building, after investigating said proposals. The Board • award the contract for said- work to M. A. Hawkes, for 1-S-60, - 16 Prox Smokeless Steam Boiler ;-:pith A S M E rating of 16000 sq-ft. complete in stun of 1, 980.00. The Clerk was directed to prepare a bill for an ordinance appropri- a.tinJ the sum of 41980.00 to the account of Miscellaneous Expenses and repairs Public Buildings, and 42700.00 to the Department of . Engineering for west side sewer plans, etc . , • Claims in amount of 5 160j .46 were allowed, The Board approved the various payrolls up to Sep. 1st, 1927. The Board decide that as Monday Sep. 5th, is Labor day and a legal holiday-, no meeting will be held on that day. • The Board then adjourned, Prest , of Board. Attest : Clerk of Board
