City of Richmond, Indiana,
Thursday August l8th,1927.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session at the office of said Board Thursday August l8th
1927, at. 9 o 'clock A. IL All the members Messrs, Reid, McFail and
Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit :
Mr. Walter V. Reid the newly appointed and qualified memberb of
II said Board to fill the unexpired term of Walker E. Land, reigned,
being present, On motion of Mr. Henley, Mr.- Reid was selected as
President of the Board, the minutes of the last meeting were read
and approved. -
The Cleric reported various complaints & requests for arc lights from
various members of council, all of which were referred to Street
Conissioner and Su-pit . , of Light Plant .
The Board granted permission to the Commons Lumber Co. , to cut the
curb in two placed at 711 Sheridan Street; Also, to International
Harvester Co . , to cut the curb on east side of North 15th Street at
Lot 612-614 E. Starrs, Addition. .
Upon- the recommendation of Fire Chief, the Board awarded the contract
for furnishing fire hose to The Boston Wooven Hose Co. , J.E. Larkin
Agt-. , 500 ft . Bey State Brand, Double Jacket with Rocker Lug Couplings
pl-.20 per foot . bids on rubber coats thrown out unacceptable.
The Board accepted report of engineer in matter of completion of
contract under Improvement Resolution No. 814-1926, for the improve-
ment of Grant Street, by cement sidewalk & curb & mutter on both sides
from Bridge Ave. to Ridge Street, and approved a. primary assessment
• roll therefore.-
The Board approved the primary assessment roll for the improvement
-of the alley between North 6th & 7th Street, by cement roadway from
North " A" to "0" Street, under Improvement Resolution No.823-1927.
The Clerk was directed to notify the A.D. T. & T. Co . , to raise their
wires on south side of Peacock Road. ,
The City Civil Engineer was directed to prepare plans, specifications,
etc. , for South "-B" Street Sewer.
