The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday August llth, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A. I. Messrs, Land and Henley present. Mr. McFail , absent . Two members of said Board being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit; The City Engineer reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 823-1927, for construction of a cement roadway in the alley between North 6th & 7th Street from North "A" to " 0" Street, same was accepted and assess- ment roll ordered. I/ The Board approved the contract & bond of Pyle & Ridgeway, contractors under Improvement Resolution_ No. 837-1927, for improvement of Ridge Street, from School to Stevens Street. A petition was received for the improvement of Hilda Street by constructing cement sidewalks 5 ' wide & curb & gutter on both sides of street, from Lastnaven Ave. to west end 'of street, referred for plans for next year. A petition was received for Sanitary sewer in alley between Hunt & Harris Street, from School Street to the north corpor- ation line, referred to engineer for plans. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.844-1927 for the construction of Sanitary Sewer in the 1st alley east of Boyer Street, from School to Stevens Street. - The Board unanimously. adopted Improvement Resolution No.84l-5- - 1927, for the improvement of Southwest 4th Street, by construct- ing .cement sidewalks 5 ' wide, curb & gutter, on both sides of street, grading and paving the roadway with surface , treated macadam, from West Main Street to the National Road. • Sam Jaffe, was granted permission to construct together with the other property owners a cement sidewalk on north side of Main Street the full width thereof, from North 3rd to North 4th Street, under the supervision of city engineer, the same to be done by private contract. In lieu of guarantee bond being filed by W.L.Magaw, under con- tract for improvement of South 15th Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 799-1926, the Department of Finance was directed to pay said contractor the 5% retained on said improvement. The Street Commissioner, was directed to fill up the holes in Harris Street, north of school Street, in order that the inhabitants of the city may have an outlet to the north while "chooi Street and the Williarnsburgi Pike are being paved. The Board approved a plat representing 12 lots, numbered from ' 1 to 12 inclusive, laid out by Robert H. & Luther M. Commons ' located on south side of South'.'E" Street, between South lath • & 20th Street, known as the Commons let Addition to City. Thursday August llth, 1927. 43 Pursuant to advertisement , the Board received bids for furnishing 500 feet of 22" fire hose with couplings and 20 regulation rubber • coats, for use of the Fire Department , as follows to—wit : " Grether Fire Equipment Company, Dayton, Ohio, bid; Regulation Rubber coats $7.35 each.
