The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,met in regular session at the office of said Board on Thursday July 21st, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A.M. -Messrs, -Land and Henley being present. Mr. McFail absent . Two members of -said Board being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit : A petition for electric light in South 23rd Street, between Reeves- ton Road & -South "E" Street, was referred to Sup 't . Hess. • A petition for cement curb & -gutter and sidewalks both sides of North 12th Street where not already constructed, from North "E" to North "J" Street, was received & referred to Engineer. The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for 500 feet of fire hose and 20 rubber coats for fire department . • Contractors certificate #4-4 was awarde J.F.Hipskind under contract Improvement Resolution No. 828-1927. •i# amount of $2550.00. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No.837-1927, for improvement of Ridge Street, by constructing cement sidewalks 5' wide, cement curb & gutter and paving roadway with either Re- inforced Concrete, Sheet Asphalt, Rock sphalt or Bituminous Mac- adam, from School to. Stevens Street, as follows to-wit : - " Pyle & Ridgeway, bid• Re-inforced Concrete 8`; thick $13 .70 per tin-foot - " John F. Hipskind, bid; Rock Asphalt roadway $15.98 peri lin-foot Re-inforced Concrete 15. 98 Bituminous Macadam 15.75 " J. L. Teegarden, bid; Re-inforced Concrete $16.85 per lin-foot. The Board now issue their preliminary order, designating that said roadway be paved using re-inforced concrete. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 838-1927 for improvement of the alley between North 7th & 8th Street , by concrete roadway, from North"C" to "D" Street, as follows, to-wit : " Daniel G. Burkhardt, bid Cement roadway complete p0.2214 per square-ft . " Pyle & Ridgeway, bid; Cement roadway complete $0.2 '¢ per square-ft . The bid of D.G.Burkhardt being the lowest & within the esti- mate of city engineer, the contract was so awarded. Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for cable & light posts, etc. , Mr. Henley reported the auction sale of buildings to be removed on account of widening of School Street, netted 03236.00. Claims in amount of $11,837.79 were allowed. The Board then adjourned, Attest : 42of Board • 'lerk of B and
