The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana-, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday July 7th
1927, at 9 o 'clock A. M. Messrs, McFail and Henley being present,
Mr. Land, being absent. Two members of said Board being present.
The following proceedings were had, to-wits
The Board met. to hear all persons whose property is primarily
assessed�``an a>aamages awarded in the matter of the widening of
School Street, from 1st alley east of Boyer Street to the right-
of-way of the Grand Rapids & Indiana Railroad, as provided under
Declaratory Resolution No. 205-1927. After hearing all persons
interested who appeared and verbally remonstrating against the
amount of benefits assessed against their respective properties,
claiming the same to be unjust to theproperty owners in the dis-
trict, claiming the city at large should paythe damages for taking
the property necessary to widen the said street, and that if it
was necessary to widen the street the city at large are the ones
benefitted and not - the few property owners assessed. After con-
siderable discussion in the matter, the Board on motion of Mr.
Henley, confirmed, the original assessment roll of benefits and
award of damages as heretofore approved, and the Board now direct
the assessment roll be forthwtl transmitted to the Department
of Finance, and declare said chool Street widened.The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 839-1927
• for the improvement of the alley between South 12th & 13th Street
by cement roadway from South "B" to ''C" Street .
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 840-1927,
for the improvement of the alley between Crosshall & Boyer Street
by cement roadway, from Grant to School Street.
The Board met to hear. remonstrance if any of -e:ersons interested
under Improvement Resolution No. 838-1927, providing for the im-
provement of the alley between North 7th & 8th Street, by con-
structing cement roadway the full width thereof, from North "C"
to "D" Street. No one appearing ar remonstrating, the Board de-
cides that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for
said improvements are equal to the cost of same as reported by
the city civil engineer, and thereupon take final action on said
resolution, the same being confirmed without modification.
The Board direct the Clerk to advertise the resident properties.
on Lot 34, 137 & 186 in Benton Heights, Addition, condemned &
appropriated in the widening of School Street, for sale at public
auction on Wednesday July 20, 1927, 2 P.M. at not less than the
appraised value of said houses, the same to be removed from the

lots. •
Claims in amount of y$5186.79 were allowed.
The Board then adjourned,
