The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday June 30th, 192.7, at 9 o 'clock A. M. Messrs, McFail and Henley being present, Messrs, Land, being 'abeent. Two members of said Board being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : A petition signed by L.C.Peacock & Richmond Gravel Co. , reauesting I/ West Main Street be widened from NW.8th bt. to East Haven Ave. and cement sidewalks on north side of West Main Street, from 8th to llth Street, was received and taken under . advisement. • A petition signed by Emma F. Schattel et-al, praying for the improve- ment of the alley between South 12th & 13th Street, by constructing cement roadway the full width thereof, from South"B" to"C"Street, referred to Engineer for investigation. The Board approved the bond of John Graf, in sum of $500.00, in matter of gasoline curb pump at #44-4-6 South 6th Street. The Board approved the contract & bond of W. L. Magaw,- contractor under Improvement Resolution No.833 & 836-1927. The Board approved the contract & bond of J. L. Teegarden, contract- or under Improvement Resolution No.835-1927. The Board approve and sign contract with The Raymond City -Coal Co. , for 30,000 tons of coal © $2. --2 per ton f.o.b.cars North Bend, Ohio. for use of M.E.L.& P.P.Qfrom July 1st 1927, to April 1st, 1928. The Board approved the primary assessment roll under Improvement Resolution No. 817-1926, for grading Northwest 6th Street to sub- grade,- from Pearl Street to Peacock Road. The Engineer reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 832-1927, for improvement of the alley between South 14th & 15th Street, by cement roadway from South "E" to "F" Street. the Board accept the same, and approve primary assessment roll. The Board award the contract for city castings, to The Land Foundry Co. , at 4¢ lb. delivered. The Board allow contractors certificate #40, to J.E.Hipskind con- tractor under Improvement Resolution No.820-1927, in sum of $2808.40. The Building Inspector was instructed to grant permit to McMahan Tire & Battery Co. , to erect a canopy in front of their building on east side of NW. 5th Street, the city does not however relin- quish any of their rights which might be used for said canopy, also, grant permission to said McMahan, to construct circle curb at his own expense.
