HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-27-1927 Office of Board of Public Works, City of Richmond, Indiana, Monday June 27th, 1927. • -The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana., met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday June 27th, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A. M. Messrs, McFall and Henley present. Mr. Land <<absent; Iwo members of said Board being present. The fol- lowing proceedings were had, to-wit; The Board received and accepted "Sun Dial" , from the Preble County, Ohio, Historical Society of Eaton Ohio, and directed the Sup 't. , of Parks to select proper sight to install the same. The Board ordered 10" water main laid in School Street, from Boyer to Sheridan Street, with fire hydrant installed. Street .Commissioner was instructed to place cinders over tiled ditch in front of Earlham Heights Church in West Main Street. The Board accept recommendation of the Coal Committee, in matter of contracting with naymond City Coal Co. , for 35,000 tons of coal for use at Light Plant ® $2.42 per ton, North Bend, Ohio, Sup 't . , of plant directed to have contract signed by said company. Upon the recommen4tion of Sup 't. , Hess the Board order street lights placed in Ridge, .Ratliff, Hunt & Harris Streets, between . Stevens Street new north corporation line; also, at end of Hunt Street at Eelden factory. Sup 't. , Hess, was directed to negotiate with Robert Ashe, for . poles and transmission line of said Ache, in newly annexed ter- ritory along the Williamsberg Pike. The Clerk was directed to request Police Commissioners, to give police protection at play grounds in Glen Miller Park, in the evenings, to stop large boys & hoodlums from destroying playground equipment. The Board approved contract & bond of Daniel G. Burkhardt, con- tractor under Improvement Resolution No. 8314-1927. Claims in amount of $25, 554.23 were allowed.
