This recommendation also includes employment of a full-time arborist to ensure that all current and new landscaping is properly implemented and maintained. The City will reorganize the current structure of the Building Maintenance Division by transitioning seven (7) budgeted positions from the Roads & Illegal Dumping Division to create the Beautification Division. The newly created Maintenance & Beautification Division will be properly staffed to ensure the City is a better place to live, work, and play through enhancing its appearance. Financial Impact - The financial impact will be primarily related to employment of a full-time arborist needed to oversee new landscaping projects and to ensure the proper maintenance of all City landscaping. It is anticipated that on an annualized basis this position will cost approximately $55,000 to $65,000, including benefits. Proposed Action: Staff recommends the City Commission approve the legislation directing the Interim City Manager to reorganize current resources to develop a Beautification Division and to employ a full-time arborist for this division.
