The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday May 9th, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs, Land, McFall and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to_ it : The Board approved the contract & bond of The Andrews Asphalt Paving Co. , contractors under Improvement Resolution No. 827-1927. t ' • Permission was granted Roy Keting, to cut the curb at 823 SW."AH St . A petition for constructing cement curb & gutter on both sides of South " 0" Street, f ,omrSouth 8th to lli-th Street, was received and referred to engineer for report on city ' s part. Walter V. Reid, Thos. Turner & Howard Gluys, ape raisers ;..pointed by Judge Hoelscher reported the value of Corlisa Engine & 16uipment at Light Plant , @ 45500. 00 on board cars, Richmond, Indiana; The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 208.-1927, for the opening of alley over & across _Tract 207, Official Map, to straight en the alley 1st south of Main Street running from Southwest 5th to 4t h Street. The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 209-1927, to vacate alley from Southwest Z;-th Street west to east line of Lot No.8, E. G. Kempers, Addition; thence south to south line of said Lot No, o, E. G. Kempers, Addition. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution. No. 834-1927, to improve the alley between Hunt & Ridge Street, by constructing a cem- ent roadway, from Maple Street to let alley north of Linden Avenue. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 835-.1927, to improve the Peacock Road, by const4ucting cement curb, gutter, 6 ' side- walks on bboth sides of road and grading & paving the roadway with concrete where the same is not paved, from Northwest 8th to Northwest 9th Street . The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 836-1927, to improve Northwest 5th Street, by constructing cement sidewalk 7 ' wide cement curb & gutter on east side of street, grading & paving the roadway between the present cement roadway & curb & gutter with sur- f ace treated macadam, from Richmond Avenue to Chestnut Street . The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any, of persons primarily as- sessed as benefits & damages awarded under Declaratory Resolution No. 202-1926, for opening of an alley between South 4th Street and the C . & 0. Railroad, running from South "Dn Street, t first � r L, south �o the YI_" Street . BoardsouthNooneremonstrating, the being fully advised in the premises, ap-prove a final assessment roll, con- firming in all things the original roll as heretofore approved, and declare said alley opened as above described, and direct said assess- m• ent roll be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance . The Board met to hear remonstrances and take final action on Declaratory Resolution No. 203-1927 for the opening of an alley 20 ' wide between South 5th & 6th Street, from South "A" Street north to the second alley south of Main Street . A remon- strance from Chas, W. Jordan, Henry D. Zuttermeister, Herman Uphaus, Ferd Gr:)tha.us, Addle E. Mable and Hazel R. Craig; and Guy E. Bull, having been filed protesting against the. amount of • • damages awarded to each of their r spective properties . The Board after having given each of the above interested who ap- peared a hearing, and after having carefully investigated said remonstrances, overrule the same and thereupon take final action on said resolution, by confirming in all" things a final assess- ment roll of benefits and award of damages" as heretofore aporoved by said Board, and now direct the same be forthwith transmitted • to the Department of Finance, and declare said alley opeii be- tween South 5th & 6th Street , between the- points described., • The Board directed the Richmond City Water Works, to extend the • water main in Northwest 5th Street, from Center Street to Linden .
