The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, :.let in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday April 28th, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said- Board Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the improvement of the alley between South 14th and 15th Street, by constructing cement roadway, from South "E" to 4'51" Street under Improvement Resolution No. 832-1927. After hearing all persons interested who appeared, no remonstrance having been fi-lId or presented to the Board. The Board decide that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost thereof as reported by the City Civil Engineer and thereupon take final action on said reso- lut ion, the same being confirmed without modification. The tennpteriod for filing of petitions for material to be used in re-surfacing of Southwest 1st Street, from. Main Street to the National Road under Improvement Resolution No.826-1927, having expired and no petition having been presented for re-surfa_cin; said street with any other material than Rock Asphalt which the Board designated at time of receiving bids thereon. The Board thereupon confirm all former actions taken On same and awarded the contract for said improvement to The Stone Construction Co. , they being the lowest bidder and said bid being within the esti- mate of the city civil engineer, with the provision that said company is not to start said improvement until after the National Road from Southwest 1st to 5th Street is completed or until ordered to begin same by the city civil engineer. A petition signed by 28 resident property owners, abutting on the . National Road- from Southwest 1st to 5th Street, praying that said street be paved with re-inforced concrete under the bids received - on April 14th, 1927, and as provided for under Improvement Reso- lution No. 827-1927, for improvement of said road, this being all of the owners, The Board on motion award the contract for improve- ' menu of the National Road from Southwest 1st, to 5th Street , under Improvement Resolution No. 827-1927, to The Andrews Asphalt Paving Co. ,- of Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio, according to their bid re- ceived on April 14-th., 1927, and the plans and svecifications under Resolution No. 827-1927, for said improvement , designating that said roadway be paved with 8" re-inforced concrete, as petitioned for and heretofore designated by the said Board _in its preliminary order for said pavement . The Board received communication from B .V.D :vis, IJivision Engineer of the C . 8. O. Thdrsday April 28th, 1927. 5 The Board received communication from The Andrews Asphalt Paving 0o. , assuring them that the repairs to Southwest 1st Street from National Road to Southwest "D"1 Street will be made before Sep. 1st . 1927. The Board receive and accept aJ•reement. from Charles H. Sell, agreeing that if the City will improve Peacock Road by constructing cement sidewalks, curb & gutter and paving the roadway with concrete, from I/ present roadway to curb that he will pay the cost of the alley in- tersection .in cash between 8th & 9th Street as soon as L4provement is completed, if done this year; Also, agreeing, that if permitted to build on his real estate on said road, that he will erect any or all of said property 30 feet back from present street line, and agree- . ing in the evetn the street is widened in the future to stand 'any fair assessment of benefits and damages which may. be assessed or • awarded to the above mentioned real estate . The Board received bids for the construction of sanitary .sewer under Improvement Resolution No. 828-1927, from the River to North "G" - Street as follows, to-wit : John F. Hipskind, bid; Sewer .complete. . •- 42. 19 per linear foot " E. A. iiia.r i an i , bid; bewer complete -- , 2.85 per linear foot . " Pyle & Ridgeway, bid; Sewer completed per linear foot . The bid. of John F. Hipskind, being the lowest and within the esti- mate of the City Civil Engineer, the contract was on motion awarded to said John F.
