The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday April 18th, 1927, at 9 o °clock '. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : Pursuant to continuance from April llth, 1927. The Board meet to I/ hear all persons interested or whose property is affected under 1m7. Improvement Resolution No. 029-1927, providing for the improvement of the alley between South 6th & 7th Street , by constructing cement roadway the full width thereof, from South "B" to " C" Street . The . City Civil Engineer, reported that there are 26 resident property owners residing and abutting the line of said improvement, 19 of whom have signed the remonstrance filed on April llth, 1927. The Board decide that as more than 2/3rds. of the property owners have remonstrated against said improvement . on motion of Mr. Henley the Board rescind said resolution. The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is effected under Improvement Resolution No. 831-1927, for the improve- ment of the alley between South 10th & llth Street, by constructing cement roadway the full width thereof, from South " I" to "J" Street, after hearing all persons interested who appeared and carefully con- sidering a remonstrance filed against said improvement of April 8th 1927, purporting to be signed by 10 esident property owners. The City Civil Engineering Department report that there are but 10 resi- dent property owners residing on said improvement, 4 of whom have signed a remonstrance. The Board on motion overrule the same and de- cide that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same. And thereupon confirm said resolution without modification, The Board received communication from W. G. Bate, Supat . , of Public Schools, complaining of the condition of alley running east from North 14th Street and between the school property and private proper- ties facing on North " G" Street adjoining the Nicholson School yard. The same was referred to Police Department for investigation and report. The Board approved the various payrolls up to April 16th, 1927, Claims in amount of ,,t4 1862.20 were allowed.
