Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday March 14th, 1927, at 9 _o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : Permission was granted to H. A. Huck to cut the curb for driveway at 434 Northwest 5th Street.1/: - Permission was granted Horace Hauk to cut the curb on west side of East Haven Ave. at Lot No. 6, Benhams ' ,Addition. The Building Inspector, was authorized to notify Jas. D. Smith at South 5th Street near South "L" Street; The International ,Harvester Co. , North 15th below North "E" Street; Pensylvania Railroad Co. , North 6th Street, to immediately take out necessary building permits, for buildings at above mentioned places. The Board enter into and sign contract for Engineering Services, to be rendered the City of Richmond, Indiana, by Black & Veatch, Con- sulting Engineers of Kansas City, Mo. , For Engineering services in making all preliminary surveys and field studies and prepare the detailed plans, specifications, instructions to bidders, proposal forms, contracts, estimates of cost and all other data necessary for receiving bids for the construction- of a sanitary sewer system in the Clear Creek drainage area unsewered in the City, including out- fall sewer and sewage disposal works with proper for the treatment of this sewage together with the sewage now delivered to the present sewage disposal works in southwest part of City, for the construct- ion of sanitary sewer system in the district in the southeast part. of City, which is unsewered including outfall sewer and sewage dis- posal works proper for the treatment of the sewage from this distric. for the construction of sanitary sewage interceptors along White- water River and its branches intercepting the sanitary sewage going direct into Whitewater River, and the plans for the outfall for then interceptors and the sewage disposal works for the sewage carried in these interceptors. The preliminary studies will include a study into the feasibility from an economic standpoint as to first cost and operating costs of bringing all the sewage to one disposal plant The plans and specifications will be so drawn that the City may pro- ceed with either or all of the projects or a part of thereof. Also to design such storm sewers as are needed in southeast district (See Contract) . I/ ' A petition for construction of cement curb, gutter and sidewalk on east side of Northwest 5th Street, from Richmond Ave. to Chestnut Street, was received and referred to Engineer. A communication from The City Betterment Committee of th'e Woman's Club, earnestly requesting the Board of Public Works to co-operate with them upon their annual "Clean-up Campaign" . The Board unani- mously endorse the campaign, and direct the Clerk to notify Mrs. F. W. Stephens, Chairman, of their enthusiastic support .and co- operation in said matter. 45E3Monday March 14th, 1927. ' The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. XXFX 828-1927, for the construction of a sanitary sewer in the alley Between North 16th & 17th Street, from the River to North "G" St . The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 829-1927, for improvement of the alley between South' 6th & 7th Street by constructing cement roadway from South "B" to "0" Street. The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 203-1927, for the opening of 20 ft . alley between South 5th & 6th Street , from South "A" Street, north to 2nd alley south of Main Street . The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 204-1927 for the opening of South 12th Street, from South "H" to "J" Street. The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 205-1927, To widen School Street 40 foot on north side thereof, from 1st alley east of Boyer Street to the G. R. & I. Railroad right of way. The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 206-1927. To widen Fort Bayne Avenue, from intersection of said Ave. & `north 5th Street, to North "0" Street. The Street Commissioner was directed to open ditch at South 23rd and "E" Streets, at the natural drainage thru the Haines place. Claims in amount of $11,905.02 were allowed.
