HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-07-1927 Office of Board of Public Works 455 City of Richmond, Indiana, Monday March 7th, 1927. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday March 7th, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Land, ivicFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : I/ . - The Board received a petition for improvement of Ridge Street, from Grant to Charles Street, by constructing cement curb & gutter on both sides of street and paving the roadway with either re-inforced concrete, Sheet Asphalt , Rock Asphalt or Brick, taken under advise- ment until hearing on north part of street March 17th, 1927. A remonstrance was received against improvement of Maple Street, from Ridge Street to the G. R. & I . Railroad. The Board order tank and electric heater placed in fire house as -proposed By Richmond Plumbing Co . , and M.E.L .& P.P. subject , to approval & acceptance by Board. . 'The Board approved. Bond of General Electric Co . , contractors for new 10, 000 k.w. Turbo-Generator Set & equipment at light plant in - sum of l 66,'-I-00.00. The Board received agreement by and between Richmond Manufacturers . & Merchants Realty Co. , and City of Richmond, Indiana, for construct -ion and extension of sewer between Hunt & Ratliff Street from Steven: Street north to said companies grounds, referred to City Attorney, City Engineer directed to prepare plans for said extension. The Board received communication from Gath P . Freeman, Atty. for Dr. George G. Ferling, claiming his property 'would be damaged by widening of South " A" Street, between 6th & 7th Street, in amount of $6, 000 .00 for land taken and ' 1, 000.00 to remodeling and restor- ing his- buildings, making in all the sum of 4-7, 000.00 The Building Inspector was auhtorized to issue building permit fo G.D. Waters for erection of building on Lot h-75 Beallview, Add. N.W. corner of South 6th & "N" Street . The Building Inspector, was directed not to issue any building per- mit in rear of lots between South -5th & 6th Street, from 2nd alley south of Main to South "A" Street, account proposed opening of an alley.
