The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday February
24th, 1927, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All- the members of said Board
Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley being present . The following
proceedings were had, to-wit :
In matter of complaints against Gas Co . , taking up their mains
under the sidewalk on National Road west, the Clerk was directed
to request N.H.Johnson, •Mana.ger of Indiana. Gas Utilities Co. , to
write a letter to Board agreeing to place sidewalks. in good- con-
dition and repair any walk which may be undermined on account of
taking mains from under the same, as verbally agreed by their .
foreman. -
The Board referred the matter of removing of old engine house at
South 6th & "E" Streets, to City Attorney.
A petition for sewer in alley between North 16th & 17th Street •
• from North "G" ' Street to river was received, referred to Engine-
ering department for investigation and report .
A petition signed by A•.T .Summerfruit' & 43 others requesting that
Morton Lake be. drained before warm weather, the Board not knowing
their powers, referred same to City Attorney.
Communication was received from W.F.Graves, Chief Engineer, of T.
H. I .& E.Tra.ction Company, in matter of switch track in National
Road between West 3rd. & 4th Streets, to leave the same where it
is or remove same to West 3rd Street . The Board decide and direct
the clerk to notify Mir. Graves, that West 3rd Street is to narrow
for said switch, and rather. favored said switch tracks be- re-laid
at present location, provided, the company relay the same using
heavier rails and laid on concrete foundation along the line of
proposed paving of National Road. -
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.823-1927,
for improvement of alley between North 6th & 7th Street, by con-
structing cement roadway, from North " A" to " C" Street .

The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 824-1927,
. • for the improvement of North 12th Street, by constructing cement
sidewalk on west side of street 6 ' wide, from P. C . C . - St . L.R.R. ,
tracks to North "J" Street . • t

The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.525-1927
for the improvement of East Haven Ave. by constructing cement
sidewalks . 6 ' wide on both sides thereof, from National Road to
peacock Road.
Clerk was directed to notify Senator,riarlan, the board favored
Senate Bill No. . 261.
The Board then adjourned,
