The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday Febru- ary loth, 1927, . at 9 . o ' clock A.. M.. All the members of said • Board Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley being present . The fol • - lowing proceedings were had, to-wit :- The Street Corhinissioner was directed to place cinders in Church Street to fill the holes from National Road north. A petition signed by Frank M. Price et al. was received for opening of an alley between South 5th & 6th Street, -from South "A" Street north to the 2nd alley running east & west . The Board referred the same to Engineering 'Department for plans and Resolution. The Board .approved contract and bond of Wheeler Condenser and' Engineering Co. , for furnishing 17, 200 sq-ft . .Condenser for the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant . , price $37; 630.00 • The Board approved contract with Westinghouse Electric & MMfg. , Co. ,. for Transformers for M.E.L.& P .P. for year. A remonstrance filed in council, protesting against the practice of The Land-Dilks Company, burning debris on vacant lot near • their factory was received, and Mr. Land promised that this mat- . ter would be attended to. • Complaints & recommendation filed. in council by Councilman ti"falter= - mann, requesting that South 7th from A to L. South B. 2nd to 7th; South C. from 3rd to 7th; South D. 6th to 3rd; South 5th from E. to L. South 'G.H.& J . 'be repaired an4tt4: e1itinate all chuck holes in these streets, request an electric light be in- stalled in South "L" Street between 5th & 7th Street ; also, that South 2nd & 3rd Streets be scarified. & rolled from South "A" Street south.Also, that the Board & City Plan Commission look - into, and study the advisability of purchasing property on west . side of North 16th Street from Main to "A" Street, making a large • thoroughfare to North "A" )treet at an angle thereby diverting traffic off of fain Street ; also, study widening of Fort 'Jayne Ave, from Main °treet north, taken under advisement..
