Monday January 3lst, 1927.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday !anuaryy
31st, 1927, at 9 o ' click A. M. All the members of said Board
Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley being present . The following pro-
ceedings were had, to-wit : .
Richmond 0asket 'Co. , ask permission to enclose bridge across North
" F" Street at their factory, permission granted providing the same
is metal siding with fire door at each end of bridge entering the
factory. Building Inspector was authorized to grant Building permit
for construction of residence in rear of 100 South 5th Street ,
The Board approved the contract & bond of Pual Teegarden, contract-
or under Improvement Resolution No. 817-1926.
In matter of remonstrance filed, against improvement of SW.lst St .
and 'National Road from Main to Southwest 5th Street under Improve-
• ment Resolution No. -818-1926. The City Civil Engineer reported that
there are 34 resident property owners, 16 of whom have signed the
remonstrance. There being a number less than the majority of the
resident property owners who have signed the remonstrance, the
Board now overrules said remonstrance, and directs the City Clerk
to advertise for bids under said Improvement Resolution No.818-1926
as heretofore confirmed January`20th, 1927.
The Board directed the Clerk to advertise for bids for two one ton
trucks with Anthony dump 'bodies, one trawler and one Roadster for
use of Street Department . Also, for improvement of Grant Street
Improvement Resolution No. 814-1926.
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under
Improvement Resolution No. 816-1926, the same is accepted and asmt .
cool ordered. .
The Board received report of Citizens Committee and Mr. D. C . Hess
Sup 't . , of Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant, recommending
the purchase of 17, 200 sq-ft . Condenser for the- 10, 000 K.W. Turbine
from Wheeler Condenser & Engineering Company @ bid price of -$37, 000/
less p175. for rolling tubes at one end net " 37, 625.00. The Board
accept the same and direct the Clerk to prepare ordinance appropri-
ating $37,800.00, and present the same at next meeting of Council.
Claims in amount of $7600. 73 were allo;red.
The Board then adjourned,
