The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana met in regv.lar session at the office of said Board Thursday January 27th, 1927, at 9 o ' clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs, Land, McFall and Henley being present . The fol- lowing proceedings were had, to-wit : The Board received communication fro, G. J . Derbyshire General Su/pit . , of C. & 0. Railroad estimating the cost of bridge on • South 9th Street over their tracks a.t %1L0, 000:00, stating if the city desired to construct a bridge in place of the one there .at present , he would be agreeable to recommending to the manage- ment of railroad that the same be built, if the percentage 'they • would call on the railroad to pay was not to great, he wanted it understood this was in no way obligating the railway in any way in connection with it , as the present bridge provided a way over their tracks and they were fullfilling their obligations. The City Civil Engineer was authorized to purchase new Typewrit- er for his office at price of $97. 50, including his old machine. The Board received bids for 20, 000 gallons more or less of tar under city specifications, to be applied on city streets, as follows, to-wit : "Hayes Construction Company, Indianapolis, Indiana, bid; Furnishing 20, 000 gallond more or less of tar applied on the city streets C $0.15.25 per gallon, less 2%-10 days. The bid of Hayes Construction Company, being the only bid received, contract was so awarded.
