Monday January 3rd, 1927.
. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday January 3rd
1927, at 9 o 'clock A. M. Messrs, McFall and Henley being present,
Absent, Mr. Land. Two members of said Board being present. The
following proceedings were had, to-wit : ' _
The Board received request from Ira Woods, Office Manager at Light
Plant requesting that houses be carded for. contagious diseases in
: . •I/ rear as well as in front, same was referred to Secy. Board of Public
Health..
A letter was received from Wm. H. Whiteley, in reference to his
mothers lot at corner of 1st and Kinsey Street, requesting 61, 000.00
for part of same desired by -the City, together with the city stand-
ing the expense of sidewalks, curb, gutter and street construction
The Board deem price to high, and select Jesse A. Bailey as apprais-
. er for city, and request Mr. Whiteley to name appraiser and the two
selected to name a third man to form board of appraisers to appraise
. said lot . .
The Board decide the city will do all work necessary at their own
expense -in widening the corner at 1st & Kinsey Street, at the
Jenks, property, also, agree to construct a coping beginning at the
west end of lot on Kinsey Street ; thence east to corner; thence .
north to his steps leading to the rear of property.
The Board received communication from American Brown Boveri Corpor-
ation, correcting error made in their guaranties on their proposal
• for turbine for light plant . .
Upon the recommendation of Mr. Hess, and the citizens committee,
that the contract for 10,000 k.w. turbine generator . set, air cool-
er & oil circuit breaker be awarded to General Electric Company.
The Board direct the Clerk to prepare an ordinance appropriating
$166, 400.00 out of the eatjnings of the Municipal Electric Lighting
& Power Plant, in order that they may award 'the contract .
The Board allow claims in amount of $3567. 69; also approve the pay-
rolls to December 31 1926, inclusive.
The Board adjourn until after meeting of Council this evening.
The Board met in office of Board at 8.30 P . M. and award the con-
.. tract for 10, 000 k.w. turbine generator set, air cooler & oil circuit
breaker; also erection,. Engineer at $p1�.00 per day plus ligilligaerely
traveling expensesa.t5.00per day, toGeneral Electric at
bid price of $166,400.00,
