Monday ,December 6th, 1926:
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
. in regular- session at the office of said Board Monday December
6th, 1926, at 9 o 'clIck A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs,
Land, McFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings
were had, to-wit : .
The Board approved the contract & bond of E. A. Mariani & Co. , con-
tractors under Improvement Resolution No. 816-1926.
The Board issued contractors certificate No.32, in amount of $4401.4
under Improvement Resolution No. 792-1926, SW. 5th Street"C"to"E" St.
The Building Inspector was directed to notify various persons whp
are constructing & repairing buildings without havth g taken out
building permits, to take out the same at once. under penalty for
. failure so to do.
• The .Building Inspector was directed to issue permit for construct-
' • ion of Gasoline filling station on Southeast corner of 12th and
e_. - Main Streets, subject- to changes made by City Civil Engineer.
. ' The Board directed the_ Clerk to draw up agreement & contract rent-
ing the old hose house at North 8th & !'D" Streets, to Walter Dennis
- for use of the Townsend re-creation service, same to be rented
from month to month at a rental o1 30.00 per month, to be -vacated
by, said parties upon notice by said Board of Public Works.
. The Board received bids for Automobile and Motorcycle, for the use .
of Metropolitan Police Department, as follows, to-wit :-

Motorcycle with sidecar--- $486.00 less $129.00 for old motorcycle.

Upon the recommendation of Police Chief, the contract was . awarded
r to Chenoweth Auto Co. , for 1927- Bu' ck- 1140.00 and old Pilot Car.

The clerk was directed to request John J. Steele, to meet with
them Monday December 13th, 1926.

The Clerk was directed to prepare an ordinance appropri-
ating $737. 60 for additional to No. 5 hose house and pay-
ment of interest etc. , also, to transfer $1, 000.00 from
Police Salaries account and $497.00 fro Traffic Guides to
account of purchase of automobile and motorcycle for the
Police Department. -
Claims in amount of $1568.70 were allowed.
The Board then adjourned,
