HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-20-1926 3 Office of Board of Public Works, City of Richmond, Indiana, Monday September 20th, 1926. • The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday September 20th, 1926, at 9 o 'clock A. M. Ail the members of said Board Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : A petition signed by Eugene Anderson & 4- others requesting a water • main be laid in Northwest 5th Street from5Center Street to Railroad Bridge was received, and hwereas their is no need for fire hydrants on this route, the petition was referred to Water Works. The Board approved contract & agreement between M.E.L.& P.P. and McClelland White, for electric current near New Paris Pike. , Sophia Minck was granted permission to cut the curb for driveway _in rear of her property 100 Southwest "A" Street. Carl E. Davis, was granted permission to cut the curb for driveway Lot No. 8, Benhamm's Addition. D. C. Hess, Sup 't. Light Plant , was instructed to attend the ration- , al Eledtric Light Association convention at French Lick, expenses to be paid out of Light Plant Funds. . The Board received bids for improvement of South "J" Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 810-1926, as follows to-wit : " W. L. Magaw, bide Sewer complete-201 2.39ft. 12"- 1.95 ft. Street complete-$12.75 per lin-foot. Surface treated macadam $2.40 per square yard. John F. Hipskind, bid; Sewer complete-20" $2. 60 ft . 12"-$2.00 ft ; Street complete$13.30 . per linft; ,Surface treated macadam pavement-- 1.65 square yard. " J. L. Teegarden, bid; Sewer complete 20" $3.75 ft. 12"-42.50 ft .Street-$14.00 lin-ft ; Surface treated macadam pavement--42.00 square yard. Bids referred to Engineer for investigation and report. The Board. received bids for Sanitary Sewer in alley between Hunt and Ratliff Street, from School to Stevens Street under Improve- ment Resolution No. 811-1926, as follows to-wit : " E. A. Mariani & Co. , bid; Sewer complete 03.74 per lin-foot. " John F. Hipskind, bid; Sewer complete 3.93 per lin-foot. Z. B. Pyle, bid; Sewer complete 46.23 per. lin-foot. The bid of E. A. tariani & Co. , being the lowest and with- in the estimate, contract was so awarded. • The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 812-1926, for the improvement of South " I" Street, by cement sidewalk 5 ' wide, curb, gutter planting trees .and grading and paving the road- way, with surface treated macadam, from South 9th to 13th Street as follows, to-wit : (see next page for bids) . Teegarden, bid; I/ Street complete $12.75 lin-foot. The bids were referred to City Engineer for investigation and report. The Board approved payrolls to September 18th, 1926.
